Someone in the band told me that it has a chance to be really badass, or completely embarrassing. They are only getting just a couple shots at actually rehearsing together.

I was told it would be a separate show. Makes sense though with the time limits of halftime.

The only time I have ever seen a live act attempted with a marching band was Taylor Hicks. 2007. Auburn. It sucked big time. May have been because Taylor Hicks sucked, but it sounded like everything was 2 seconds off the whole performance.

Don't know how good it's going to be - Jason Graham, their lead singer / songwriter, just quit the band about a week ago.

Allowing Jackson State's band on our field is embarrassing enough. I don't think anything else can top that.

I've checked Nash Street out on the Internet and they're pretty damn good. Not sure how well it will go over with the full band though

I said in the over/under thread that I would be one of the ones complaining. I think it is incredibly embarrassing that we are allowing that in our stadium. Like I said before, I don't mind playing them and hopefully getting a sure win cheap, but they need to leave that band ******** in the SWAC.

Country Music's boy band, Rascal ****** Flats.

The first girl singing played with another band in my backyard a couple of years ago.

when Bill Monroe meets John Phillip Sousa, either. We shall find out. And you said it seemed different. It's a little more different than "seeming" different. </p>

it's going to sound like crap.

I can tell you that right now. The reason is because pop/country/whatever bands are used to playing tempo's at whatever the hell they feel like. Marching bands with 200 people in them all have to go with the drum major. The drum majors are not going to be able to control a group like Nash St. Add in a lack of playing time together, the fact that the bands speakers and the sound from the horns will be off, and you have a cluster<17>.

College bands + pop bands together = crap.

enough for the fans to alter some lyrics

Besides, this song seems like mainly a showcase for the drumline and brass. If only there were a style of marching band that primarily used those things.

I mean, why do we have a bluegrass (or whatever you call that) band playing? Not complaining, just wondering.

I figure if we were going to have some live music, it should be Thorogood. He should play "Move It On Over" ('...move over little dog, the big dog's movin in') and obviously "Bad to the Bone" and be done with it.

I have to think he's going to see and hear it before gameday, and he won't let them present it if there's even a slight chance of it being a charlie foxtrot.

will hear it or not. I know that when I was in the band, LT never came out to practice, but then again that was LT.

And the problem is if it sounds like crap, the band is just going to have to go with it because you can't really put in an entirely new show on a moments notice. So, I don't think there's much Byrne can do about it. At that point it would be go with what you have or don't do a show.

And an FYI for everyone- MSU's band is the only one in the SEC that doesn't get support from the athletic dept. in terms of funds. So, if the show sounds like crap- don't blame the ninja.
