Crazy that every other program can keep their emotions in check enough to get thru a handshake line and pay respect to their opponents.. hundreds of duals every year, year after year. They haven’t shook hands since the almost brawl. No benefit and only negatives could happen in the form of suspensions.
There actually is benefit. It's called sportsmanship....losing happens. They haven’t shook hands since the almost brawl. No benefit and only negatives could happen in the form of suspensions.
It sure does. The sportsmanship on the mat was just fine and that is what matters in my opinion. There actually is benefit. It's called sportsmanship....losing happens.
I mean…we haven’t shaken hands with them in a few years, so i don’t think it’s us losing that’s the issueThere actually is benefit. It's called sportsmanship....losing happens.
Crazy that every other program has safe showers except PSU.Crazy that every other program can keep their emotions in check enough to get thru a handshake line and pay respect to their opponents.. hundreds of duals every year, year after year.
I wouldn’t read that much into it, especially as a PSU fanIf one truly believes wrestlers are not to be defined by a win or a loss, as I seem to remember Brands saying during an interview, then a Brands' team should never have a problem shaking hands.
Clearly Tom did and Telford did (I don't know about all the other coaches), but few others did.
I think it is the kind of look that top recruits and their parents might not desire. Seems a less healthy environment.
Crazy that Cael has been able to keep that from being a problemCrazy that every other program has safe showers except PSU.
Except for Star-crotchyCrazy that Cael has been able to keep that from being a problem
A certain wrestler from OSU couldnt keep his emotions in check just a few years agoCrazy that every other program can keep their emotions in check enough to get thru a handshake line and pay respect to their opponents.. hundreds of duals every year, year after year.
Don’t care who made the call, it’s wrong and a bad look.Since the fight a few years ago the athletes don't shake hands this isn't new. And maybe the administration made that call![]()
It only happens in this dual it's not like they refuse to ever shake handsDon’t care who made the call, it’s wrong and a bad look.
That statement isn’t accurate. The broadcast showed the ISU coaches and wrestlers walk the post-match handshake line. Hawkeye-colored lenses are great, but your post is fiction.View attachment 1042726
Coaches shook hands the team did not
If remembering right, both universities coaching staffs and athletic depts made the call to end it.Don’t care who made the call, it’s wrong and a bad look.
They shake hands before and after the match...
The men's team has refused to shake hands many times.Among other things, post-match handshakes include a component of humility. Modern college, high school and professional sports could use a little more of that eh? Hawkeye women’s basketball & wrestling squads and Hawkeye men’s basketball team don’t have any issue with this simple task?
Yes, because the chumps running the men’s wrestling team allow that to happen. The men's team has refused to shake hands many times.
They do teach recruit and toughness. Probably should reallocate some of that time to recruiting and teaching offense. Hard to win matches without takedowns. Mikey C knows offense. The Brands teach toughness but not shaking hands at the end is the most p…y thing ever. I’m disappointed in that.
Do you think it's the right decision? It only happens in this dual it's not like they refuse to ever shake hands
What happened years ago was a bad look for everyone. I have no problem with it. They shake in the faceoff and before and after the match. If no one shook hands after duals anymore I would be ok with it 4 times is probably overkillDo you think it's the right decision?
Would you rather have someone start mouthing off (does not matter from which team - but more than likely the winning team) and then a brawl takes place? They shook hands at the end of each match. Occasionally basketball teams do it as well. Just not a big deal and as was mentioned before, pretty good chances are the administrations said don't do it. Though Dresser did act like a douche with his arms spread wondering where everyone else was at actions.Don’t care who made the call, it’s wrong and a bad look.
You're wrong - watch again and take off the clone tin foil bonnet when you do.That statement isn’t accurate. The broadcast showed the ISU coaches and wrestlers walk the post-match handshake line. Hawkeye-colored lenses are great, but your post is fiction.
fify. The Brands teach toughness but not shaking hands at the end is the most orange-y thing ever. I’m disappointed in that.
If you watch Dresser walk over to the hawk bench it sure makes your statement sound fictitious, dresser is walking around with his arms out to the side like where did they all go, they don't want to shake hands? If remembering right, both universities coaching staffs and athletic depts made the call to end it.
Or he's grandstanding to get exactly what he got from you?If you watch Dresser walk over to the hawk bench it sure makes your statement sound fictitious, dresser is walking around with his arms out to the side like where did they all go, they don't want to shake hands?
No true. They shook hands last yr in carverThey haven’t shook hands since the almost brawl. No benefit and only negatives could happen in the form of suspensions.
