Survive, Evade, Resistance, Escape

All the Services have some type of SERE schools around the USA for different levels of service assignments.

The standard one we are hearing about this weekend is for aircraft crew ( Pilot's, etc.) crashing into enemy held land.

John had to attend the US Navy one somewhere deep in the woods of Maine or New Hampshire.

What I am telling you is a compilation of information gleaned from multiple sources.

It is mandatory based on your flight location for overflying enemy land or water. Water different training.

Sensory attacks (interrogations, light, sound) NO waterboarding ! Duties if captured,
Survive in the woods, given a dead rabbit for food, for as long as you can until caught.
More interrogations, etc. John lost 15 + pounds in 2 weeks.

So the weapons officer evaded in IRAN for over 24 hours, until he could be safely extracted !
Happy Easter !

My BIL as USAF Air, Sea, Rescue when he was single. Survival training. Parachute in wilds of Utah. A knife was it ! (Find your own bunny !)
They would find you after 2 weeks.
Sister said no more, when they married !

I have a degree in Natural Resource Management, lol. Actually did a lot of research on water in my college years. A lot of the things I studied have come to fruition.

Guess I’m the expert here. Maybe you guys are the ones that need an education. Just maybe.
Nope, not me.

I've never been conned into ANY belief in climate change.

What can you expand on here about water management in the Gobi, Sahara or India ?
Water desalinization in Isreal ?
Destroying dams in Calif ! Not repairing/refilling reservoirs.

Desalinization? Only necessary because we are destroying all the natural clean fresh water.

Gobi? Ya they are f’d. Groundwater continues to decrease. Battles over water increasing. Not enough water for animals and people.

California is a disaster. Have we already forgotten about the fire? Poor water management was key. The GOP should not let Dems be in charge of this stuff. But the GOP can’t talk about water without having a temper tantrum about climate change.

A few hundred million people don’t have access to toilets in India. Major water shortages. This is hilarious.

I have taken SERE training. It was pretty cool. There was really no realistic scenario where I would use it, however.

For our water management experts, I would recommend competitive Orienteering - I’m sure there are several great clubs in Colorado. Orienteering is a great skill for anyone, but especially military types

The entire majority of the World's population has no access to toilet's or outhouses.

In India the monsoons come and go. Too much water becomes not enough water at the exact same place depending on the date of the monsoon season.

There are Bollyhood stars that run contests to change water availability in arid areas of India.
Swales, catch basins for running ground water and plantings are all used to rise subsurface water storage and use. They work.

New book coming in 2027.

“How the West was Lost” by Squishy.

Squishy would have told people to stop in St. Louis! History tells us that Native Americans without sophisticated dams made Arizona viable over a thousand years ago. Yet, Squishy wants to give it all back.

The Hohokam population maxed out around 80k, and then dispersed due to environmental factors. Most of their canals became inoperable. They abandoned their settlements by 1450.

Worked really well, until it didn’t.

Venice canals had a changeover in water quality during Covid as tourism dropped dramatically.

Even porpoises returned into City canals.

Nothing necessary worldwide to change water like a good epidemic.

This supports my position. Some areas find better balance with fewer people. Arizona would be one of those places. Thanks.

What I say about your position is that you support various ill evaluated positions to change the world or areas of the world thru idiocy or governmental controls that haven't worked.

You scoff at efforts in large areas of India that have been shown with satellite photos to have gone from brown to green, with NO reduction of populations or black water reduction. Using available methods.

Like the one child program in the CCP, which was the CCP's attempt to control the population.
It failed to take into the centuries old Chinese civilization that Sons are worthy, Daughters not !

Or the concrete spillways in Los Angelas that directs millions of gallons of rainwater into the Pacific rather than be stored in aquifers in Southern Callie for later useage.

NOT a single resident of Venice was relocated, except those dead from Covid.

Utilization and storage of available water would not require one resident or newcomer to not have their Arizona address !

Utilization and storage is not possible when the availability of water is decreasing. Availability is pretty important. More people, same limited water sources. This isn’t rocket science.

I don’t blame you for not knowing what you are talking about. People in the NE don’t need to worry about water.

I can see why people leave this thread. Might be time for another self imposed break.

You are correct that you need a break, to study water west of the Mississippi, like the Grand Canyon. ( one of Flecks fond hikes/jogs ?)

Like President Trump after supervising the rescue of the downed Airmen, take off for a round of golf on that course you like with the man made lakes where my Nephew lives when in Colo.

Fair. That’s what I’m thinking though. Not moving people by force. Encourage people to move and give them reason to do so. Maybe the farmers and ranchers are the ones that you give incentives to move. But something should be done, the water levels aren’t coming back in that part of the country. It’s unsustainable.
The water levels will come back when people leave. Government incentives are fine, but that’s a tall task. People work for a living. Are you incentivizing people to move and yet they don’t have the same job/employer? Are they going to incentivize certain companies to move? If I’m in the school system supported by the tax base, I’m losing money and my school system is going turn to crap. Then the houses. Are you buying my house for fair market value and bulldozing it, or is the house being left and someone else will just come right in for less money? These are just some surface scratching thoughts.

The easiest solution is to let the Democrats take over Arizona. Everything they touch turns to :poop: . Eventually they will lose population and Californians moving out will skip AZ and go to Texas or Florida. Of course the Democrats taking over AZ is an unacceptable solution despite its likely success. :ROFLMAO:

You have no idea what you are talking about with India. Rich people pay a lot of $ for “black water”. India is absolutely seeing a reduction in usable water.

I forget his name but an American Billionaire recently purchased 1,000,000 million acres in New Mexico.

Black water is primarily used in South Asia in rice "ponds".

The largest river in India has a small problem. Centuries of India funeral customs of releasing the dead into the Ganges instead of ground burial or cremation.

More Tiger.

He received permission from a Florida Judge to leave the USA for "treatment".

I assume it is for cleaning up his use of hydrocodone, probably Vicodin. Easy to be prescribed, easy to get hooked, easy to require more and more, hard to stop !

His private jet was just seen landing in Switzerland, no reports of him piloting the jet or as a passenger.

His mouthpiece is requesting a Trial by Jury.

From what I have seen from body cam at the scene, I am going with Careless Driving.

The Police at scene let him wander around, rather than cuff him up immediately, he had Vicodin in his pocket could have ingested some AFTER the accident ! His knee had a huge knee brace on it = weaving while walking, leaning on Police car. Could lead to failing balance, co-ordination tests. He was coordinated enough to operate his cell phone !
