I have avidly followed Husker Football going on 33 years now. Prior to that I was busy being an adolescent and would tune in only when we played OU and then whatever bowl game we would play in.
I think we are better than under Frost but that is not saying much I know. I understand next year‘s schedule is tough but I will tune in start to finish. We are likely to be overmatched in most of the Big-10 games, will be underdogs and most likely lead to quite a few losses. If that does indeed happen, how we lose will be just as important to me.
What I want to see is improvement in fundamentals, competitivenes, player toughness, solid Offensive and Defensive game planning. I’m very interested in what portal additions and the impact of new coaching staff will change this team. I will really be watching Coach Rhule. He says the right things but this was the year for the Huskers to Walk the Walk.
If next year is more Talk than actual Walk with no clear trajectory, I will be hitting the Transfer Portal. Not to another Team but more of a casual observer of College Football and much less a follower of my favorite team. I spend so much time reading, watching and listening to commentary about the Huskers and it is beginning to be no so enjoyable anymore. For many of the Husker Fans I’ve bickered with, I apologive. You must be just as frustrated. Happy New Year!
