Related to the World Cup, the Avid Reader was the one who scored the goal against England in the 1950 World Cup. However, because he knew that Soccer only appealed to Communists, fairies, and long-haired Beatnik reefer-smokers, he personally kept Soccer from becoming popular in the US for the next 50 years. He knows that the greatness of America is inversely proportional to the popularity of Soccer in this country.
