Zion is a very rare being. For a guy that talented to have such a loving spirit is remarkable. I look forward to watching him play for many years to come.

So let me get this straight......
For most guys, who are talented, they don’t have a loving spirit.......or........if they have a loving spirit, they don’t have any talents.

Exactly! I challenge anyone to find a group of people with more loving spirits than the untalented. They depend on the kindness of strangers.

I was actually thinking of my interactions with college athletes and the best ones were often arrogant, but I assume most grow out of it.

Apparantly Ja Morant and Zion played AAU together when Ja was in 10th and Zion in 9th grade. Zion recently said it on a podcast.
They weren't even the best players on the team, some random guy that plays for Ole Miss was the star of the team. What??????????

I’m realllllly liking Ja on and off the court.. he came out of nowhere from a small college.. could have easily been a 1 year wonder in college that is a bust in the NBA.. but the kid is a great player.. will likely be dishing dimes to Zion in All-Star games in the very near future.

It’s just pure jealousy on their part at this point. They wanted him so badly at uk!

oh yeah they are still upset that many of the guys they wanted like “Tatum, Bagley, Zion, Barrett, and Reddish” chose to play for a much better coach then what they have. It’s awesome to see Duke’s former younger players such as Tatum, Ingram, Bagley, and Zion coming into their own. All four of those guys will be All Stars throughout their careers. Barrett, Carter Jr., and Reddish will join them as well.

could you imagine if the Pelicans make the playoffs and they play against the Lakers and upset them with Zion outplaying AD in the process? Oh man RR would have a meltdown and the posters over there would start with their “conspiracy theories” it would be pure comedy.

It would be the worst job by any NBA refs in the history of the game.

I wonder if Zion will stay with the pelicans long term? I really like having an NBA team full of Dukies!!

I have always been an Atlanta fan in all pro sports, but if the pelicans play the hawks and I see all those former Duke players on the floor, how can I pull for them to lose? I mean, I cant!!!

Bumping the thread for tonight's game against the Nuggets. Anyone know if it'll be televised nationally?

I don't think it is, @Blueline Devil, or at least I didn't see it. NBA Pass has a free preview through Jan 26th, so you can see it through that. I have Slingtv and NBA Pass (free preview) is available. Also, I'm thinking of buying NBA Pass of the Pelicans (you can buy just one team's games instead of all) for 60 bucks for the season.

Zion has 13 points in 12 minutes on 6 of 7 from the field. Pelicans are losing 67-61 with about 9 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. OFC

“Williamson is a combined 15-of-20 from the field. According to research by the Elias Sports Bureau, that's the best field goal percentage through two games in the shot clock era (since 1954-55), with a minimum of 20 attempts.“

Tomorrow night at 6 against Boston on ESPN. NO Duke basketball or football this weekend so this is exciting. Unless you like tennis from down under.

He’s also 3rd all time points per minute through first two games.. that stat has been tracked since 1951.

And for the haters that will say, “so what! he isn’t helping his team win”.. last night he was +16 and the previous game he was +2... so when he is in the game, his team wins.. it’s when he’s on the bench they struggle.

15 points in 15 minutes.. 7/8 shooting.. 15 of his first 19 NBA career shots.. he’s the real deal folks..

On a side note.. Ingram is really good and JJ passed Kobe for 15th all time 3pt’s made.
And Chauncey Billups for 14th
