Friend of mine’s kid was offered early admission to Harvard for next fall. They’re an extremely accomplished student with the kinds of ‘extracurriculars’ that include paid internship on a presidential campaign, business founder, student body president (first 2x president and first junior), etc and attends a top private in the DC area. They’re also a finalist for UVA’s Jefferson Scholars Program (basically covers all tuition and expenses for four years). They can afford Harvard full boat. My friend said it’s almost certainly going to be Harvard, just because you can’t pass up the name/network. But, they’re holding out to see if the Jefferson comes through - might be tempting…
