has a conference ever dominated the dance like the big east is doing?

If UL and Syracuse both win, and I think they could, then you'll have 5 of the final 8 from the Big East.

1985 - three teams in the Final Four. National champ Nova and runner up Georgetown. I was a St. John's and Chris Mullen fan. Hoyas took em out in the Final Four. The other Final Four team???? The Memphis State Tigers, with Keith Lee leading the way.

Nova: 6-0
Gtown: 5-1
St. John's: 4-1
Cuse: 1-1
BC: 2-1
Pitt: 0-1
Total: 18-5

So, let's see this year:

Pittsburgh - 3-0
Villanova - 3-0
UConn - 3-0
Syracuse - 2-0
Louisville - 2-0
Marquette - 1-1
West Virginia - 0-1

So, right now, they are 14-2. Obviously that will change. If each remaining team wins out until they lose to another Big East team, they'll be 23-6 as a conference. Worst case scenario, they finish 15-6 if every team loses ASAP.

Still a pretty dominant performance.

Well, 15-7 since the Pitt Nova winner would have to lose their next one, but still very good.

A year later, Duke was in the finals. Wish I could have been there that night, although I have hated Louisville and Pervis Ellison ever since.

that Baskerville Holmes led the way on the '85 Tiger team. Best name ever.

According to the NCAA, though, I believe Memphis had to vacate that Final Four appearance.
