Has any MSU baseball player caused more excitement than Holder?

I went to the game last night and Dudy Noble was truly electric when Holder came out of the bullpen. With his western walk out music and his crazy hair, the crowd was eating it up. Some people just started gathering up their stuff when Holder came out because they knew it was over. My daughter even said "Wow, that guy is scary".

I have not been to alot of baseball games since my college days but I can't remember an individual player that made the crowd come alive like Holder does.

He didn't have all the flair, but when Jay Powell came in to close I always felt like the game was over. And they played "Wild Thing" for his walk-out music.

There's been some more beloved players for sure, but it is tough to match the excitement of bringing in the big ***, sure-thing, lockdown closer with a beautiful flowing mullet and terrifying walkout music. The fact that we had just made a very improbable comeback in the last series of the year and were bringing him in to seal the deal probably helped too.

So, not in my very short memory do I remember us having an exciting closer like him.

Holder's Entrance Music?

What is Holder's entrance music? Unfortunately I haven't made it that way this year...yet. Here's hoping there's more baseball at Dudy Noble after this weekend. I usually make Super Bulldog Weekend, but had a wedding to attend.

I think Aaron Weatherford was a lock-down closer, too. Not sure if he was a good as Holder. How would you compare Paps to Holder?

Edited to add: Holder's walk-out music is not western; it's country (Johnny Cash). There is a difference.

Awesome. If that was his choice, good call. In another thread a while back someone said his music was 100 Black Coffins. I looked that up and that wouldn't intimidate anyone.

There likely will be more baseball at Dudy Noble, but the NCAA doesn't allow the home team to use its walkout music in regionals unless it's changed in the last couple of years.

There was a lot of excitement. You just had the feeling he was going to put an end to the game in short order. First baseball game I've been to in years and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

That's too bad because it's part of the game. But I suppose if we do host a regional, we're not necessarily the "home" team, even though we're at home. I think that happened last year. Isn't the home team the highest ranked team or something to that effect?
