Has anyone heard/read a recent Bittle update?

It's been kind of odd the way the whole thing has been handled. Maybe Bianco has been hoping against hope. That being said, Bittle may relieve this weekend and, if we advance, start in the Super. But I doubt it.

The whole way his medical stuff has been handled has been odd.

The Yankees find something, drop him and the UM MD's find nothing. You don't draft a guy that high and just drop him because of some wear and tear.

Then, he supposedly has a biceps injury and then I hear some UM fan say that he has a "strained anterior capsule". My question is "anterior capsule" of what?

It just doesn't add up. And I don't know why they are being so secretive about it. His draft stock is now completely shot anyway, and it acutally would probably help him out if they were more forthcoming with whatever his injuries are.

When I had my rotator cuff surgery, one of the things the Dr. did was to shrink the capsule with a heat gun to help hold the shoulder together better.

Yes, this capsule thing is apparently in the shoulder. However, supposedly it can lead to pain in the bicep, which is probably why it was originally misdiagnosed.

His draft stock is probably shot, and I have my doubts that he'll pitch again. From what I've heard, it sounds basically like he may be able to throw again for us, but it'll basically be a case of him having to grit it out through the pain.

I'm not expecting him to pitch again for us, but Bianco still seems to think we may be able to get something from him. I'm guessing that if we get anything, it probably won't be more than maybe 2 or 3 innings in a weekend.

that a guy that hasn't thrown off a mound in a long time and is dealing with an injury like this is going to be thrust back into action. At the Ferriss Award Banquet he was quoted as saying at that point he was "just playing catch right now".

This is honestly the worst break I've seen for a team since Gene Morgan got his shin taken off in 85.

they got a good break when he came back this year in the first place.

And if he does pitch, and he looks horrible, I better not hear anything about Cohen abusing pitchers.
