His coach says that he is the best player he has coached. The kid is about 6-3 or 6-4 and needs to gain weight like most high school athletes, but he supposedly has a good arm and decent mobility. He wants to go to MSU, but he is going to go to whatever school offers him. He will need to "show-out" as a senior before we offer him though.</p>

He looks pretty decent against slow, relatively non-athletic academy comp.

I saw him twice, in the state semi-finals and state championship from the sideline. He is very good for AA private school football, but he isnt SEC material...yet. He is comparable to Whit Haggard, who I saw several times this year also.

Dylan Favre dominated the fast, athletic 4A public school competition (going undefeated)

His team lost against slow, relatively non-athletic academy competition.

Just sayin'.

Parklane and Jackson Prep. Prep would have been a playoff team probably in every classification. In 2-6A the only team I think that is obviously worlds better is Madison. They could have compete and beaten most of the others.

Prep = high 3A, maybe mid 4A. They have athletes. They have coaches. They have 3-4 deep. Hardly academy whitebread style.

I don't want this to turn in to a public/private argument. The kid can either play or he can't. Same for Tyler Russell, Dylan Favre, or anybody else. Anytime an academy kid is brought up,everybody bitches aboutcompetition level. That is never brought up when we sign Tojo Patterson or Dicenzo Miller (sp?) from small public schools. Tojo didn't pan out, Miller was awesome. Dicenzo played against bad competition, but the dude could flatout play. That is how we judged him (thank goodness). If Jerious Norwood had played1A public school, peopleon this board would have orgasmed to sign him. If he had played at Jackson Prepnobody on this boardwould have wanted him.

Rogers can either play orhe can't. Admittedlyhis competition isn't great. Butneither is the competition that the 1A or 2A publicschool players see. If competition is an issue, I say we only sign 5A and 6A players, which just isn't practical. Heck, Kaleb Eulls got his asshanded to him by MRA, but was all-everything in 4A.
