Has Bradford contributed anything lately?

He's a Freshman All-American for crying out loud. Questioning his contributions to the offense is not allowed on this board. **

He is an unbelievable defensive outfielder and his contribution is valuable just for that alone. He turns extra base hits into outs and plays shallow enough that he also turns singles into outs. He doens't have to do much at the plate to contribute.

He's just frustrating how well he hit freshman year and then how much he is struggling now. But I agree with you he's got to be in the lineup based on his defense. I wouldn't mind putting him in the 9 hole though. When he gets on, that would give frazier some RBI opportunites.

I agree about the defense, but his offense has been horrible. If he dropped down some *unts or hit ball on ground more, he'd get done hits. I don't know if its problems from his shoulder injury or what, but I wish he'd come around.

Needs to be in the 8 hole. Guy can't hit quality pitching. .214 in SEC games.

He batted over .400 the first half of his FR season, when he was facing mostly bad pitching and no one had a scouting report on how to pitch him. Once he saw better pitching and teams figured out how to pitch him, he hit under .250 the second half of that season. It's not uncommon at all in baseball for a new player to tear a league up (whether the SEC, the NL, AL or whatever) at first, then once teams develop a book on him cool way down. His swing just has way too many hitches in it to hit good pitching well. From what little I've seen this year, it looks like they've worked with him to smooth some of those out and I actually like his swing today better than I did 2 years ago. But he's just not a guy that's going to be a top hitter in the SEC.
