just wondering. Usually they say something positive about their former employer.

If my memory serves correct, there

has been chatter on here about a rift at the bowl game involving Dak/Tyler/Brewster/Mullen.

And I think someone on here has offered to share his knowledge about that situation if and when the time was necessary.... and I would think that Brew leaving would be the time to spill the beans.

I haven't even heard he was leaving for sure. Has MSU put out anything that I missed?

That could be, but Brewster sure was positive about the recruiting process and seemed to be working really hard. And I have heard, I think, that he and Dan are close friends. And he's always been positive on Twitter. But the last thing he posted was talking about meeting at the 120 Club (or whatever it's called) several days ago.

not until they fill his shoes. but its official. we aren't going to make a press release that only has bad news. the university will report he is gone whenever they make an official release about hiring a replacement.

Most professionals don't...

bad mouth their former employer in any business, especially coaches since they bounce around. I don't get the love fest for Brewster. Yes, he gave positive energy but he failed as a head coach and didn't land any big time recruits. Meh...don't really give a **** that he left.

I totally missed that "chatter" refresh my memory.

What would he say, really? Do you need him to say what a great opportunity MSU gave him and how much he appreciated it? How Starkville will live forever in his heart?

That's exactly my point. Unless he makes some kind of statement, it smells. Maybe he made a statement of some sort when he left..without saying anything.

He made a statement that he was happy at MSU and not looking for a job. But when FSU called he took it because it was one of the top programs in college football. Why is it such a mystery to so many of you why a coach would leave MSU for a "lateral" move to Florida St.? It's not that hard to figure out.

Make some noise on twitter.....

become a message board hero, and the fans decide that a guy whose only been here a few months is the guy who should be promoted to assistant head coach / OC / QB Coach and vice-president of the university. I'll give the guy credit for one thing, whether intentional or not, he was great at self-promotion.

Assistant coaches come and go. Get used to it. There are assistants in the SEC who have coached for half the teams in the conference.

Thanks. That is all I was looking for. It's disappointing that we can't seem to retain good coaches when it's not even a matter of salary. It verifies our lack of a winning football tradition and just how tough a job Mullen has in recruiting players as well as coaches who will stay for the duration. The positive side is that he knows what he's doing in selecting coaches since before you know it some other school raids. If we can win 7 or more games a year for the immediate and mid term time frame, I will continue to support Dan and all he's done and continues to do with a handicap in Starkpatch.

That's true but most move for either a promotion or more money or both. He's doing neither.

I just checked his Twitter

It's changed to say he's coaching TEs at FSU. So it is indeed official now.

He wound up at MSU as sort of a fluke anyway

As you recall we lost or receivers coach right before the season (August), we needed one, and Brewster wanted to coach.,and was available.

He was just parking for awhile, and he did his part until recuriting was over.

It's not like he ever intended to come and stay.

I'm not surprised at all.
