..that MSU's 3 out of 4 wins to date have been on the road?

That's ridiculous.

The wins aren't ridiculous; the wins are commendable. Winning on the road in college football (no matter who you play) is hard is hell.

The ridiculous part is the idiot who put this schedule together. MSU is forced to become road warriors to even get to 6 wins.

Compare MSU's scheduling plight to the other two 4-4 teams in the conference: Vandy & Florida:

Vandy is 3-1 @ home this year. Vandy has only played 2 ROAD GAMES to date.

Florida is 3-1 @ home this year. (Only road win @, of course, Kentucy).

If MSU holds to conventional wisdom & goes 6-6, 50% of MSU's wins for the 2011 season will have been on the road.

last year we went to houston and had bama and lsu on the road

this year we go to memphis and birmingham and play bama and lsu at home

...i think your non-conf should relate to the games you have home conference wise, but I am not sure which is better
this is not this year and last year though ...just in general
1) you have a chance for a better season when you play bama and lsu at home so you may want to schedule more ooc away games than normal
2)hard to win at bama and lsu so you offset that with more home games those years

because we play LSU and Bama at home and those are going to be a loss most years.

When we play AU and AR at home, those are winable.

As for playing UAB and Memphis on the road; it has been discussed, and a program with our budget is going to have to schedule home and aways non-conference

OOC schedules don't get much easier than ours is this year. Really the only difference between this year's and the future ones Byrne set up are that those all have 3 games at home. In fact, a couple of those are probably a little tougher than this year's, even taking the home-road issue into account.</p>

Is that we are in November and have only played TWO Saturday home games. Suits me to never play another Thursday nighter unless it is a road game.
