Has Stans lost this team?

You would start those guys even though they have shown that they can't start right now to develope for next year? So just throw away your season on a chance. That's brilliant.

I would have started them from day one. Stans had to know that he would not make the NCAA this year, just like most of our fan base. We are a young team. Both Osby and Kodi would be different players at this point in the season if they had been giving the playing time. You can't look at how they play now b/c they have not had that experience that they could have this year. Stans went with 4 guards and relying on the 3 pointer to try to go with the hot shooter and win games instead of developing players and looking to the future of MSU basketball. We will be in the same situation next year, unless he finds a JC Big Man, and I don't agree with his decision. So we can agree to disagree... We will never know how our season would have played out if we had gone Big all year, you can make assumptions, but you don't really know, and neither do I.

He will be a senior and Stans loves him and his defense.

Osby will be better next year, but imagine how much better he would be if he had been getting 25 mins a game all this year.

...if we were a legitimate bubble team with the 4 guard lineup, then I want to win that night. But we're not coming up just short, we are coming up way short. And with that in mind, you rebuild, in my opinion. But I view the NIT as a total waste of time and would just as soon sit at home than play in it.

Hindsight is 20/20 though. If it looks like you've got a shot to make a run and get in the NCAA's, you put the team out there that gives you the best chance to do that, and I suppose it looked like that early in the season.

As for Osby, the difference in his game next year whether he had played more minutes this year won't be all that great. As I posted earlier, getting players who aren't ready to play "experience" is way overrated. If you're ready to play, then getting experience helps. But not so much if you're not ready to play.

We can debate all day long on which lineup works best and who should and shouldn't be playing, but the thing that worries me is the team is quitting on Stans. Saturday night the players looked and played like they didn't give a ****.

If they take that attitude and Stans can't get them back on track from an effort and attitude standpoint, then he may be doomed. Not just the rest of this year but going forward.

Hopefully what we witnessed was just frustration and not quit.
