Has Stansbury always insisted on getting the walkons in the game?

I can't recall if it has always been this way but it seems like Rick is determined to get them into the game at every opportunity which is great because I am sure they work hard in practice but damn.....they are just not any good at all.

Combined states for R. Johnson, Luczak, Parker, Price,Clayton, and Cunningham:

87 minutes played
4 pts
0/16 FGs
4/12 FTs
0 assists
10 turnovers

because that means somebody is gettin they *** beat.

Seriously though, you sit there 99% of the season, and when you get in you are pressing justto get a shot off so you have a chance to score since you probably only have a mazimum of 45 seconds to play. They jack up terrible shots with virtually no ball movement(no motion offense jokes here please). Free throws should be better than 33% though. The average 7th grader can hit 40% from the line.

I do miss the days ofMcKie Edmondson coming in and knocking down 3's every chance he got. Scored 7 in the Princeton game Final 4 year I do believe.

as we winning big. Its just as much fun to watch the regulars hollar for them on the sideline and laugh when they make a bad play or take a wild shot. The best walk-on is Cunningham who always has his warmup top off like his about to go in at any point in the game. I guess he wants to be ready if Coach Stansbury needs someone to make an intentional foul.

I do like the way the starters on the bench get all jacked up when the walkons go in. Just imagine if they actually ever hit a shot.</p>

I was 14 so don't remember details but the Hump erupted. A "Bubba" maybe, seems he might have have been injured or just had Greg Odom knee syndrome. Seeing it was worth watching all the bricked layups and FTs.

You're referring to Bubba Wilson.

He was a Parade All-American from down in Stone County. Rick Stansbury, frustrated by the other coaches not going after the best recruits in Mississippi, went after him and got him for Richard Williams.

He had a broken leg his senior year, and knee problems all through his college career. However, he was a good guy and hard worker, and his recruitment showed the MSU athletic department that we COULD get Top Notch talent in Mississippi, alabama, and Louisiana.

I remember watching that three he hit at the end of the regular season....the place erupted.

hitting a key lay up to help us beat Ole Miss when I was in school. I can't remember the details as to why he had to play, but he came through. Roy Goffer was another walk-on I remember.

And then there is my homeboy Joseph Iupe. Boo Ray, David Rula, etc.
