Has there been any official word on Jeff Howie?....

I am a Rebel, but son played with him at ICC. Thought a lot of him - 'a force to reckon with, etc. etc' Would hate it if he gave up on his career.

the coaches @ ICC thought as highly of him as they did McPhee the year prior. Jeff was having an exceptional season in '09, but broke his wrist with about 4 games remaining in the season and sorta fell off the radar screen.I remember one game, Tennessee & AU were at a game, and though they both were looking at all the players, really spent the most time with Howie. I can tell you this for sure, Jeff helped by son decide that football was no longer in his future!

Son said he was simply unblockable (played DT @ ICC). Said hitting Jeff was literally like running full speed into a brick wall. Very imposing.

to get hurt, our DL suddenly becomesvulnerable......Sure there is Kaleb Eulls but he's young and Devin Jones is a little too small......Howie would've definitely been a major contributor and his loss hurts......

Vigers and Eulls will be very good in the future, but they're not ready to take on SEC OL right now.

If Cox or Boyd go down, it could get ugly on the DL - especially if we don't have a DE or two step up.

I haven't been on campus since the spring semester ended but word from a football player in Starkville has it that Eulls has looked really good and will have an impact this year. Obviously that was second hand information, but we all know the Pack loves rumors. I found it encouraging considering Eulls was such a highly rated recruit and I hadn't heard much about him in a while.
