Hated to lose but that was a good HS football game won by a better prepared LB. Good luck to the Cavs the rest of the season.
Riverheads epitomizes community, football and humility. They do it without the big attractive facilities just hard work. Tremendous fan base and hospitality by the entire community. There's a reason it's a special place.
I too, extend my congratulations to the Lord Botetourt players, staff, and Coach Harless. That was the battle of two titans, and the winner has the right to be justifiably proud.
So Phoebus and Riverheads now share the record for most consecutive wins in a row.
After LB lost week 1 to EC Glass a lot of people were ready to write off LB. Some people were even predicting they would only win 5-6 games. To which I said, you are crazy if you think LB will be anything worse than 8-2. Well, now that they have beaten Riverheads, they will finish 9-1. I also predict that they will win their region and advance to the state-semis and have a high possibility of reaching the state championship game. They are well coached, have a really good OL/DL, and have a grown man at QB with Nicely. As long as Nicely stays healthy, LB will be just fine.
