Have coaches forgotten how to run the clock out?

Watching the OU/OSU game and OSU scored way too fast, just like Oregon State last week. They could run the clock out yet choose to score as fast as they can. I don't get it.

A lot easier said than done. You call your best play. What are going to teach your players to fall down and not get too big of a gain??

They also forgot how to rush more than three.

I don't understand the squib kick with more than a minute left. You give up 10+ yards for what amounts to three to five seconds off the clock. If you can kick it out of the end zone you make them drive a long field. Or if they try to return it you can take off time and give them a long field.

I can understand if a play breaks through the D and you score a TD, but if I'm inside the red zone and within a FG, I would milk the clock for all it's worth so that once I score, the other team won't have enough time to drive the field.

They pretty much had to go for the TD. A field goal would have only tied the game, and they really couldn't afford to screw around much ... had to score. Letting Oklahoma drive down the field was the big problem, that ... and the missed interception without a review.
