Have I mentioned how glad I am that we scheduled Georgia Tech...

5-4 would be nice right about now. Having to win one out of the next 3 would be ideal. I am starting to think we beat Arkansas for some reason. I am smelling upset for Bama. 17 it, we are going 7-5.

Arkansas at their place...I'm not as optimistic. We're cursed win it comes to playing in Arkie, as you well know. It does make me feel a little more woolly seeing that others are optimistic though.

while the secondary changes have been great...we haven't faced a legit passing attack since we made them.

DS, whenever I start thinking like that, I just remind myself that our QB is a 5'8" JUCO walk on and Croom recruited most of our players. That usually brings me back to reality.

that things would turn our way down the stretch. I really think with two weeks to prepare, Dan will again figure out how to get around big Cody and get some points on the board on that defense. If we can stop the run and make Bama qb beat us we have a chance. I say with a packed house we beat Bama. I think we also beat the Rebs and they loose their final three and will NOT go bowling.

PS: is it confirmed a 230 kickoff on CBS for Bama? Cannot find that anywhere.

I'm with you-I see a perfect storm brewing for next weekend-unless of course LSU slips up and beats BAMA. Coming off a bye week giving us two weeks to prepare our guys will be psyched to the extreme looking to turn the corner and prove themselves after the losses to LSU, GTech, and Houston. Were it not for the miscues we would/should be 7-2 right now and this will be their chance to prove it. I think they will.

Florida shut our Offense down and Bama is better defensively. *IF* we win it's going to have to come from big plays on Special Teams and Defense because our Offense won't do anything against their D.

you won't find it anywhere, because it has not been announced yet. TV decisions for 11/14 will be announced later today.

Bama has not faced a back like Dixon all year. The best runners their D has faced has been Williams from Va Tech and Hardesty from UT. Both of them have Both of them finished with over 100 yards if you count receiving yards, and let's face it, Dixon looks like he gets better every single week.

Defensively yes we've given up a lot more points than bama has on the year, but we've played 3 of the top 10 offenses in the country (Houston, Georgia Tech, and Auburn) and Florida is no slouch at 21 (and we gave them a damn good game).
The best o they've played is Arkansas at 26. Comparatively, we are at #30 overall currently. They are at #42 offensively.

Mullen is a heck of a motivator! He seems to have his team ready to play every week regardless as to what happen the week before. I think the team really believes they can get to six wins. That's the key to winning is to know how to win and I get the feeling that this team is starting to believe. I think we win two out of our last three. Which one I don't know but if I had to choose it would be Alabama and Ole Miss. I really hate those two teams. Arkansas is tolerable but it would be nice to win in Little Rock for the first time.

that being its the sandwich game between our 2 big rival games of the year. We NEVER play with much emotion or fire when we meet Arkansas and that has been our ultimate downfall there. We overcame that to play a pretty good game against Arkansas last year but of course negated that by giving probably our worst Egg Bowl effort in the history of the series. Will be very interesting to see if Mullen can keep us playing with fire for 3 straight weeks against Bama, Ark and OM.

Broomfield and Langston didn't take over starting roles until MTSU.

Have y'all noticed that Mullen has broken out new wrinkles in the offense just about every week? Rest assured that with 2 weeks to prepare, Chef Mullen is going to whip up some extra stuff for Bama. He's gonna bring out the special sauce. And when Bama eventually proves they can take it, he's going to serve them dessert.

we could run down the throat of KY but Bama's defense is a mirror of Florida's and we saw how effective ramming Dixon was in that game. Our defense and special teams (especially on coverage) will likely have to play their best game of the year for us to have a chance to pull the upset on Bama.

or if it's Jackie's "only can get the team up for three games" theory and Croom's "if I only beat Bama, everything's OK" theory.

We beat Arkansas last year, and yes I know, in Starkville. But that team had no real motivation to beat them either.

And we're usually relatively comparable to Arkansas, but for the most part the last decade they had one player that made the difference for them- either Matt Jones or Darren McFadden. So, the question is, is Ryan Mallet THAT player for them that pushes them over the top, or is it someone like Childs? If Mallet comes out trying to throw screen passes at 100 MPH, then we have a pretty good shot.

but the key to beating Bama is not Dixon. It's Tyson Lee playing well so that Dixon can have a good game.

The only silver lining I see there is Tyson did have a couple of pretty good games last year- Vandy and Arkansas- so I know it's possible. (At least I'm telling myself that) And Tyson hasn't had a game like those two this year yet. I think there are some things that happened in the second half of the UK game that he can maybe build off of.

The ruling on the field stands in spite of any legitimate facts which suggest otherwise. Houston wins.

....but yer still right.
