Up front I will say this, If we make the tournament, Stans has to stay. You don't fire a coach who has just made the dance. If we don't. I would like to see a change. Earth shattering, I know. What has me making this post is 2 things, what DS said about those rooting that we fail so that we can fire Stans and something that happened in 2004 that stills bothers me. I can't ever root against State to lose although I can admit to having apathy concerning this years team (and others). Just don't do it, it's not right. I hope for a win, but admittedly expect a loss here lately.

Now on to what bugs me about coach34. I will refrain from personal attacks because both sides have done too much of it, remember I want Stans gone, unless we make it in. Many of you remember the day that we beat bama to win the SEC title in 04, well that day I became aware of 2 posters that I had not noticed or had overlooked until that Saturday. I have been here since the first week or 2 of the beginning of this board and have seen the good, bad, and ugly. As far as I'm concerned let'em all post, but that day 2 posters stood out, <span style="text-decoration: underline;">cantstop15 and coach34. </span> Ucs15 just for his insights into the game and general posts.

C34 for his vendetta/grudge/problem with Stans. Keep in mind that day that we had a big chat going on while the game was being played. All of us were worried, perplexed at halftime because we were getting blown out but coach just kept blaming Stans(and maybe he should). Keep in mind I don't remember him posting, chatting before(does not mean he didn't) and his vitriol is just spewing from the keyboard. You know the rest of the story. We WIN, are SEC CHAMPS and guess what???? He harps on what Timmy Bowers says post game (disclaimer, I agree with his post in hindsight). We had just won a SEC Championship and he is tearing Stans apart.

This vendetta/grudge/problem has been going on that long. Sorry for the rambling but I just had to get that off my chest. He WANTS to be RIGHT more that he WANTS MSU to win. It's been going on that long and he is mainly right about Stans but it's unhealthy to have that much hate. Again, coach can be right on this and be wrong for how he has carried out an 8 year campaign against Rick.

<span style="font-style: italic;">I just put some paragraphs in there to break it up some. Not sure if if they are where they should be - dawgstudent</span>

And the usual coach34 apologists are out in rank and file. I wish I was as witty as most of the posters here. Alas, I'm not. it's pretty typical to overlook the actual post and the points I made. Glad to see our Reading police out and in full force tonight. Oh, well.

it's not Phil he is best friends with. It's Richard Williams!!!! I wonder if he knows Morgan too?

but it's another to have been critical of Stans after we just gone to 25-2 and won the overall SEC championship. If true, then that has to point to something personal.<div>
</div><div>Having said that, I've been supportive of Stans up until this past month. I was getting a little tired of him by the middle of last season, but then we finished ok, signed several good players, and started out this season well. Now I'm finally ready to get rid of him, even if we make the NCAAs. </div><div>
</div><div>We had some good teams through 2004 and were seemingly snakebit in not being able to make the Sweet Sixteen. I had no problem giving Stansbury a pass with those. However, we've only had two legitimate NCAA teams in the past eight seasons (2005, 2008), and in both of those we lost enough OOC games to warrant and 8 seed and had to play a 1 seed in the 2nd round. In 2009, we only made it to the NCAA's because we won the SEC tourney, and we were a 13 seed and got beat in the first game.</div><div>
</div><div>So now it's been NINE years since we went to the NCAA's with better than a 8 seed.</div><div>
</div><div>This was the season that we were finally going to get past that, and we're not even close. It's time to move on. I say we offer some big money and find a proven head coach. </div>

Other than the fact you don't fire a coach who makes the tourney. That's the sad part, Someone with an agenda 8 years long is accepted as the gospel around here. Heck, even coastdog on another board gave up the the ghost before the tourney. I want us in just to shut coach up. He, nor many others get it, we want the same thing. Coach has been on a 8 year witch hunt. I'm sorry, but that's scary. For fish...I corrected a spelling error.

It's stupid for people that want to say its personal- it's only personal with some of the idiots on the Board that make it so when I post about his shortcomings.

2004- Bowers makes the shot to win the SEC for us- then tells the newspaper he didnt like the play that Stansbury drew up- and decided to do what he thought was best. Everybody made excuses for Bowers then- yet want to raise Hell at Bost when he does the same thing?

I am a dead horse beating, broken record SOB- because in 2004 I said:

he didnt have enough discipline
he didnt support the S&C coach and didnt make our players work hard
he was a terrible floor coach
his record was inflated due to playing a weak schedule OOC every year

now then, tell me what the complaints about Stansbury in 2012 are??????

I said way more bad things about Crooms when he was HC. I didnt call for Stansbury to be fired till 2010.

But I was smart enough to see the problems in the program years ago. They havent been corrected-and this is why we are at this point now. People are so fed up with him- some still want him fired even if he makes the Tourney.

I said he would never make a Sweet 16 in 2004 because he was a terrible floor coach and lacked discipline. And we havent made a Sweet 16, and everybody in the US knows we dont have any discipline.

If we make the play-in game with the talent this team possesses- it still doesnt hide or sugarcoat the total failure of this season. Our guys quit vs Georgia in the SEC Tourney- you think they are suddenly going to get some courage in a play-in game? You're delusional if you think that

But I think we could easily win a play-in game. I would go so far as to say that this team is talented enough to go to the Sweet 16. But that's just my opinion.

I don't think you argued all those points in 04 nor does it really matter. BTW, it was not a NP clipping, it was his own words spoken to Joe or brando. Dude, I've come full circle on Stans. get in and another year or get out. I'm not really sure that I want him to have another year but you don't fire a tourney bound coach. We want the same thing. You are just wrong for how you have gone about it. Let's just say this, Stans was right for 8 years and how many more millions than you? I say he gets that last laugh at least.

I just realized how stupid those last 2 sentences were. I have not changed one word. The board get's the last word.

If what you posted back then was not about him getting fired, well it's all roses now. It's alright coach. I want him gone barring us backing in. aGAIN , you don't get it.

Edited for fish. Correction of spelling.

would go all Genespage at any criticism of him- which was the irony I loved about the Board back then.

And I disagree that Stansbury was right for 8 years- because its been a pretty steady decline since 2005

We'll just disagree about the past- and see what happens tomorrow to set the course for next season

Being selected for the tourney should not be enough to save Stans. If we go dancing and put the same product on the floor I've seen this season, he still has to go. And just for clarity, if we make a play-in game and lose, do you count that as making the tourney?
