Have to give Stoops props - he is now 7-2 the last three years vs. our SEC East opponents, Vandy, USC and Missouri. Lets be honest, probably not realistic to ever do any better in any given three year period than that.
So . . . to take another step forward, we have to start beating the other three, UGA, UT and Florida on a semi regular basis.
So here is the question du jour: Is it too much to ask to go 3-6 regularly in any three year cycle against those three?
We generally draw at least one good team from the West, e.g., Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and Miss State is more than likely to beat us at least 50% of the time, and frankly, UL has gotten so good that beating them more than 50% of the time is going to be difficult.
My point being is that if we go into nearly ever season with three semi automatic losses to SEC East rivals, well, you can do the math, but 6-6 or 7-5 is about the max level this program can ever achieve.
We had a great opportunity Saturday night against a beatable Georgia, and have another one this Saturday against a beatable Tennessee team. Really need to cash one of these in.
