Have we ever played Boilermakers in any major sport?

I don't recall ever playing them in any of the major 3, but I am in the under 30 range so it might have happened at some point.

We were screwed out of playing them in a Outback Bowl because the selection committee chose UGA over us. We would have played a QB no one knew much about named Drew Breese.

Dead wrong about Brees. He was being hyped as a leading Heisman candidate for the next year and the network and bowl were promoting that. They didn`t want Brees to lay a turd in his bowl game because they were using him as their big draw, They knew our defense would have killed him. We got shafted. And now you know the rest of the story.

edited to add: Purdue probably had something to do with the selection also
