Just got back from Ecity and here is my hot takes.
1. Havelock has a great defense and they will go as far in the playoffs as the defense will take them.
2. I can not understand for the life of me why NE didn't continue running up the middle on Havelock with traps and draw plays with #10. I get that its not flashy and it ain't pretty but it moves the chains and sustains drives. It was the most effective offensive play NE had.
3. I'm not sure why NE passing game didn't test the middle of the field either? They had some chances on the outside but those throws would've been hard for even Tom Brady to make. The fact is if you have some options in the middle of the field you give your skill players more space instead of fighting the defender and the sideline.
4. Coach Wooten has this team playing great on defense and for reasons I can not understand coach Moore didn't make any adjustments like I have seem him do in previous games. After that first half debacle it was clear the middle of the field was where plays could be made. NE just gave up on it after 3 solid plays up the middle that moved the chains.
5. Unless Goobs hasn't reminded yall NE has a great kicker! LMAO.
6. Goobs and I met rams60 and his friends. These guys were gentlemen and rabid Havelock fans. Had a great time hearing about their team and their history with them. Was great meeting you guys and look forward to seeing you guys at other games in the future.

you know Scorestream is a great app. I forgot about it, in fact, I forgot my reading glasses so I was even more in the dark trying to read coming home. Scorestram is fan supplied information so it is important to let them know the scores
Lol Goobs was giddy all night. He was so happy he didn't even stress the football game. Then he pulled those huge knots out of his pocket on the way back to the parking lot. Thats when I realized he was telling the truth he really did just come back from the casino before the game. All I got to say is it's a good thing he was among friends. lol

Yeah, unless you can match their speed on the edges you may get lucky once and NE did but it's not a solid strategy to get the W against Havelock. Either way, alot of teams go back into conference play now so hats off to Havelock, coach Wooten and their fans. Hope they have continued success this season.
Man I was rolling, we just wanted coach to let Caleb kick that damn 55 yarder. I had a great time. Heck the game was over, at least let the Caleb show everyone how good he is, his days are numbered now and he needs every chance he can get to impress and lock up a scholly.
That kick he made from the endzone after that high snap was superman type of stuff. Even the Havelock fans acknowledge how unbelievable that was.
I had a fun time tonight and made the best of the train wreck of a show we saw. Rams60 and Bud were great. The game was so bad we were making jokes about everything. We actually thought NE might have a better chance with their running game if we ran completely in the opposite direction. It might of possibly confused the Ram defenders lol.

Havelock did not impress. No disrespect by that either. They are young and it shows but they still smacked us good.

Clinton- has a really good team, but there stadium is not intimidating IMHO!
SWO-You guys are better than us this year, but SWO at home in the playoffs is another animal.
I like to travel too, but those three schools at home in a playoff. Nah.. I think you guys are better than Clinton and SWO, but like I said SWO at home has to have an incredible record. Wish someone had the record, but I am telling you it is stupid good!
I don't know anything about Northeastern ,but what I read here .I would have to say that the schedule your team has played has wore your team out.I can't believe that it can in anyway be beneficial to a 2a school to play 6 damn good teams in a row and not come out wounded.I don't care how good a team you got ,you just can't bring your A game ever week.and sometimes you just get beat.Now if Northeastern has made it thru this without major injuries this schedule will benefit them in the playoffs.Good luck to the Eagles. Northeastern ihas a damn good football program...
Welp, good thing is we did not come out to impress anyone, we came out to win lol. I read these threads every week, and every week it's the same thing "havelock isnt what it has been, we should beat them by this much" then boom... we hold all these teams that have state championship hopes to 1 score lol. Kinda hard to impress when your refs call the game 1 sided as possible, but I'm sure once u watch the film and see that had the game been called correctly we probably win 40+ to 0 then maybe we will have played to yall standards lol. Oh well, on to the next week lol

Havelock is a defense lead football team hands down. If you can't appreciate good defense then you wont be impressed. Trust me when I say that NE and WRH both did enough on defense to beat Havelock. Problem is you can't score against them with that defense and the wrong gameplan. Come on man, the refs? I saw two PI calls Havelock should have got (scored on one so what's the diff). I saw one PI Northeastern should have got. You disputing holding calls and roughing the passer? Really? As if they called holding on all your scoring plays to keep you from scoring. Your team is not a offensive juggernaut. That has more to do with youth than anything from talking to the fans. They are a very good defensive team that wins the turnover battle and makes enough plays on offense to win against good defenses. That will get them far in the playoffs. I'm hoping it brings a chip back to the east. I really like Wooten and the fans I met. I would like to see them have continued success.

I have to use glasses to read but I have to wear safety glasses at work so I just got a pair of prescription glasses and wear them all the time. They help me just a touch on distance but I mainly wear them so I can read. I hate having to swap glasses at work to be able to read.
Yeah NB Beat us that was the first game we have been shutting teams down every since. If we had at least one game under our belt I know it would have been a better game, everyone compares what team beat who don’t use that CC got beat by 45 tonight who expected that. after the first two games or so you are who you are. I have been reading all of the stories how good NE is and you guys are, if you follow Havelock Football we are always great on the road we have only lost 1 road game in about 6 years. The win might have been ugly sorry all wins can’t be pretty but the Defense did what is supposed to do. NE was at home we defended our side and made your guys make mistakes and you paid the piper. I am sure NE will bounce back Havelock is improving every week and we are not at our peak so week after week we will keep grinding away and see how far it takes us. No the expectations are not as high as previous years but the tradition is. Good luck to NE Great win for Havelock on to the next game we are taking this week by week.
It amazes me in these forums how little people really know about these teams that they speak so much about lol. Just because a coach preaches how much of a defensive team we are, our offense is just as explosive we just have a freshman qb. We still have 2 of the most explosive wrs around, still have rbs who can go the distance any given time, we are just playing VERY conservative and havnt needed to show anything. We are capable of putting up 40 a game still, our coach just hasn't figured out the recipe completely yet... but it is coming, just wait

I disagree, there was nothing conservative about Havelocks play calling last night. Some plays were made and others the execution wasnt there. I believe that does have alot to do with the youth on offense. The plays Havelock called on offense were spot on for most down and distance situations.
Lol ok, I will let u tell it... I'm just pretty sure I know alot more about our offensive playbook than any of these forum posters and we are not even scratching the surface... But like I said, in to next week
It is always enjoyable to read the posts before and after the game. We all love our teams we pick them up when they win and talk the should haves when they lose other than saying the best team won. Good luck to NE for the rest of the year HHS will work hard and improve each week we are glad for the tough schedule at the start our conf isn’t really that strong but we can’t take any team lightly. Week by week until the last game HHS has tradition and it runs deep when ever the new coach figures out what he has to until then we will

And that's my biggest problem in here lol... Its never the best team won, it's always the coach didnt do this or that, they weren't that impressive, we shoulda won, but... smh
I'm just intrigued about what you saw that I didn't see? I saw Havelock attack every spot on the field. They went deep with the freshman QB with mixed results. They handed the ball off to there stud RB to the edge. Then threw him passes set out wide. They basically took chances short, middle, and deep to their playmakers all night. That's a pretty solid playbook to me. I mean I guess they could have mixed in a flea flicker, halfback pass, philly special or something but I think Havelock as a team, is comfortable enough not to have to use gimmick plays.
