Since no one else is posting on this one I had to get it started. If I’m a 3a power this is deff a game that scares me. The Vikes return it all from a Very good team last year and this game is at Tarboro which is a very hard place to win at. Can anyone even remember the last time the Vikes lost at Valhalla? Going with the Vikes by 3 in this one, just because I have grown into a fan since they have become the NW1A’s favorite foe. Whats everyone’s thoughts on this one?

I appreciate your kind words. You guys are the new kings of 1A, and if we are going to have a chance at dethroning you all, I believe we need to be competitive here. Again, thanks for your kind words.
If I am not mistaken the last time we lost at home was in 2015. Before that we went from 08-13. We usually find a way to win close games at home, and this one is certainly going to take a great effort. Should certainly be an exciting atmosphere

One of the rare times Tarboro gets to play a regular season game on house money. Just talking to folks around town it doesn’t seem like many people give Tarboro a chance in this one. Havelock coming off a loss makes it that much tougher, but I have faith in the Vikings.

Tarboro folks have been begging for Tarboro to schedule games like this. Well, the coaches made it happen so I hope all those people show up and do their part and make it a great environment.

I’m telling Yhea , a Tarboro win here won’t surprise anyone. Looking at that New Bern film I think the Rams are vulnerable. I think If Tarboro is going to be successful then they better be living in the backfield. Very intriguing matchup especially at home for the Vikes. I’ve got the vikes in this one, gonna go out on a limb and say by 3. Man wish I could be at this game

If i remember correctly in 2013 Wallace Rose Hill rolled into town with a beast of a running back and a offensive line the size of oak trees and ran sweeps to the right side all night and mowed us down like corn stalks. I think the score was somewhere around 35 to 10 and broke a 45 game win streak. In 2015 we lost to James Kenan in a home playoff game. I could be wrong but that seems about right.

No one gave us a chance in 83 either lol. This Havelock team is right there with the 2019 ES and last couple MA teams and some of those WRH dawgs. I'm a Viking thru and thru so i ain't never saying we can't win. We just can't give them short fields.

We lost by one in 2013 to southern nash in the regular season. That ended up being a down Tarboro team compared to our standards. Was the first time in five seasons we didn’t have a D-1 player.

After watching the New Bern game last night I do think Tarboro will have success running the football on Havelock. My concern is how Tarboro will handle that deadly passing attack. Kudos to Tarboro and Havelock for scheduling this game. Both coaching staffs have a ton of respect for each other. If Tarboro were to win this one in convincing fashion (which I don't see happening. Fully believe this is a close game) it would be a statement win to the rest of 1a.

I would like to see this one in person but Winston-Salem is a bit too far away. But it should be a great game, a full house and and a nice gate for the Vikings. Credit to both schools for making this happen. To Tarboro for being willing to take on a 3A power and to Havelock for not being worried about possibly losing to a 1A juggernaut. There is no shame in losing to Tarboro.

I was looking at Brian Simmons power ranking to figure about what the point spread for this game will be as of now Havelock is at 153
Tarboro 133
Add 2 points to the home team the point spread comes to 18 points as of today,, after Brian figures in last week's games Havelocks number will come down after there loss Tarboros should stay about the same. The thing is Havelock is the #2 rated 3a team in state so they should be the favorite, now this is just for fun and Ove course if Tarboro wins it want surprise me or anyone else..
I'll be pulling for Tarboro.

When Tarboro moved down to 1a, they lost to Wallace twice, (home and away), and they lost to James Kenan twice, (home and away) in the playoffs. Then JK and Wallace moved up to 2a, and it's been all Tarboro ever since. Tarboro did beat JK at Tarboro the last season we were 1a, then went on the road and lost to Wallace at the Pound.

Correction, Tarboro was 2A in the time frame you’re referring.

3 things in life are certain:

1. Death
2. Taxes
3. Rain in the forecast whenever Tarboro has a big home game matchup.
Hope it happens on Friday night. Thursday or Monday night high school football just ain't the same as Friday nights. Doesn't help the gate receipts either when a game is not on a Friday night. Tarboro HS athletics should rake it in big time for this one.

Now it shows thunderstorms in the forecast. I'm all for playing in the rain but lightening is no joke

Pretty confident they will. Tarboro will definitely be there barring injuries galore... With eastern Randolph barely winning Friday and SMC being less than usual I say the only 2 teams with a shot to beat Mt airy is robbinsville and mountain heritage but I doubt it.

I still say Eastern Randolph will be one of teams to have shot.

I believe ER turned the ball over multiple times last week, so they should be better than the score. However, you can't turn the ball over when playing a good team and expect to win, so they will have to correct that. Right now, I'm not sold on MA coming out of the west. I think we'll know more after the Starmount game. If they beat Starmount handily, I would put them as the favorite. If it's a close game, I think any of the 3 (MA, ER, MH) could make it out. Obviously, it would depend on how playoff brackets line up but there is still a lot of football to be played.

To get the post back on track, I think Havelock pulls away late. Havelock 14+.
