Haven't seen a beer thread in a while.

I wish any of the below breweries would make their way to Mississippi. We are making progress, but instead of acquiring new breweries for distribution, we are getting extended product lines on breweries that currently exist in the market. I have become a fan of Widmer Brothers Nelson IPA, and it can be found in Starkville. It is a solid IPA.
1. Smuttynose IPA 2. Founders Breakfast Stout 3. Laguinitas Sucks 4. Russian River- Pliny the Elder 5. Bells- Two Hearted Ale 6.Bells Black Note Stout 7. Stone IPA-Ruination 8.Terrapin Coffee Stout

Laguinitas Sucks is VERY good, just found a stash of that here in DFW. Founders is coming to DFW this summer/fall and Im super excited about that.
Good like on Russian River... They are only in 4 States, CO, Philly, Oregon, and Cali of course. I haven't had any ever but should have some coming in the mail within the next month I hope.

Yall Still dont have have Stone Ruination? Its good but the 10th Anniversary was AMAZING.

I love Timber Beast. IPAs have always been more of a sipping beer for me and typically something I'll have with a meal. Even though I love their taste, I tend to choose another type of beer or possibly a cider just to refresh my palate.

I can't stand to drink Hefes because their tendency to taste like bananas, which I don't like. I think the only Hefe that I had that didn't have a banana taste to me was the Widmer and even then it was underwhelming.

I enjoy miller lite...

when I'm trying to get faded. Coors light when I want to throw up. Budweiser when I'm pretending to like concerts. Vodka tonic when I'm in Oxford. Whiskey water when I'm in starkville. I wear trojan condoms sometimes.

Terrapin

Do any of you around the memphis/germantown/collierville area know where any of the terrapin beer company brews can be found at? Ive checked their website and supposedly they do sell in Tennessee just wondering if I can find it in the greater Memphis area.

It isn't available in Memphis yet. The closest you can get it is in Jackson, Tn. The state is split as far as distributors go. The Bud distributor there recently bought Southwest and they have already added a couple of new brands, Brooklyn and the high gravity offerings from New Belgium. I've heard rumblings they are getting Straight to Ale, Terrapin, and Lagunitas before the end of the year.

Has anyone tried the microbrewery stuff at the Beau Rivage's Coast Brewing Company? They partnered up with Lazy Magnolia, but I think their product is only available at the Beau. They actually make 6 (or 7) beers, though I have only tried 5-- a bock, a lager they call "Biloxi Blonde", a stout (Steel Head), a Belgian wit, and a malty Sunset Amber. They are a bit mild, but quite drinkable. They remind me a lot of the micro drafts at McGuires Irish Pub in Pensacola. If you ever make it to P'cola you've got to try out McGuire's for the food, fun & beer.

Southaven beer lovers. Went to the Boiling Point tonight. They have by far the best restaurant beer selection I've found in the area. Been really disappointed with Fox and the Hound unless they've added more over the last 2 weeks.
