I feel a lot better about our situation at MSU regardless of whether Dan leaves or not.2 points here:
1)I truly believe Dan Mullen wants to be in Starkville. He will probably take another job at some time in the future, but even if he does, I think he loves Starkville, his family loves Starkville, and heis enjoying the local and nationallove he is gettingbyleading this fan base and this football team in the right direction. If/when Dan ever leaves, that gives me confidence that we can do the same thing to the next guy that takes our HC position.
2) Even though Dan coached at UF, the fact that an MSU HC has had enough success as our HC to be mentioned for the UF job is something I didn't think was possible 2 or 3 years ago, and didn't think would be possible for another few years. He's had success now, and I completely agree with what Scott Stricklin tweeted. This is what happens when you have success, and I sure as hell would rather be in this position than one where no one wants our HC.
Both of these things give me great hope for the future of MSU, either with Mullen or sans Mullen. That's one thing we can take away from this for sure, and it's that we are most certainly headed in the right direction.
