Just read Mixon is leaving the team, sorry if already posted

not surprised. he was one of our shift receivers that Moorhead couldn't find a use for. he fits better in a spread option offense that will actually throw screens and do speed sweeps.

Seemed to stay injured a lot too... almost like he had a chronic twisted ankle or something. Never seemed like he was seriously injured, but just enough to prevent him from playing half the time.

Yep, between the season-long comments about Nick, dismal WR play, O-line penalties, and the revolving door at RB, it’s not like you could point to any position group on offense and say... man, they’ve really got this down

That said, a different QB can sometimes completely change how an offense looks, so next year will be very interesting. If we continue to struggle or somehow take a step back, I’m going to start to question the scheme more than the personnel

I read somewhere that he had an extra bone in his foot and had surgery to fix it, but it hasn't healed like they thought or something like that.

Mixon has a genetic deformity in one of his feet. MSU paid to get it fixed, but it has kept him off the field. Him and Malik Dear who lost a lot of speed after his knee injury were the two most likely to transfer...

Malik Dear also graduated in December so he technically could be a grad transfer somewhere.

I had not heard that --- certainly explains it. Hate it for him because he looked like a playmaker the few times he was 100% healthy under Mullen.

From the looks of our offense, I think most everyone was not picking up what was going on. Not sure if that is a player or coach problem. Maybe both.

I think several of the DC's in the SEC picked up on our offense very well!
