About 4 weeks ago, I asked for prayers for a Friend of mine. Our friendship started at Mount Airy Jr. High in the mid-1960s. We have been huge Bear fans since then, and I am sure he has attended most of the Mount Airy games. WSYD has mentioned several times about missing him over the last few weeks at the game. He and his family sat down below the press box. He has had stage 4 stomach cancer, and they took him to Hospice on this past Thursday. He got saved about 45 years ago and is the pastor of a local church. I am one month older than him. I have been watching him for several months on WIFI as he got worse, and talking to him on the phone. He made it back to church on Sunday, September 9, 2025, and I sat with him in the front row. When the services were coming to an end, and the pastor who was preaching that day started praying and asked if anyone needed a word with God, I got down on my knees in front of my friend and asked my old friend to save me. With his weak voice, we talked for what seemed like 5 minutes, and I was saved by my friend and pastor. I had been saved, but it had been many years ago, and it had to be him this time before he went home (Heaven).

I have had a heavy heart for the last month and hope I have not made anyone mad. I have tried to be a different person on these new On3 NCPrep boards and be helpful.

I am now asking for prayers for my friend's family to get through the times that may not be much longer. He is a very good man of God, and in his hands now.

I will be praying that the Lord will strengthen your friend's family, as well as your strength. And that your friend's faith in God be strengthen in such a time as this. God is able!!!

Thank you for your prayers ! !

I think most Mount Airy fans will know this pastor as he and his family and friends always sit in the same section on the bleachers and never put down the coaches when they lose. He has supported the Bears probably since before most others in the bleachers were born. He will be pulling for our BEARS from Heaven soon and will soon meet Jesus and family and friends already there, including Charlie Kirk, who I hope has started a huge change in our country. May God Bless this biggest Bear Fan and his family ! !

I had been saved, but it had been many years ago, and it had to be him this time before he went home (Heaven).
