After Croom pared the west coast offense down to "Dixon up the middle". Jeez. Not the headline I have been holding my breath for.

in any season. All he's done is evaluated the players and identified which 60% to use this season.

he's said all along that he would not be using his entire playbook. basically, we're going to be running the plays that he believes we run the best and give us the best chance at moving the ball/scoring. imagine that.

Can you show me where Mullen said he "never uses more than 60% of the offense"? While it's true that he may be choosing plays that best utilize the talent that we have, I don't recall seeing where he said he "never" uses the whole playbook.

I can tell you this, as on offensive coach, we use about 60% of our offense each year. Take our playbook, only 60% of it applies to each given team you have. What we have to do is make sure we pick the right 60% of it to apply to the personnel that we have, then use that 60% to the best of our ability, have our players execute at a high level. If we do, we'll have the opportunity to be successful.

This should make you happier.

Dan Mullen say,
<font size="2" face="georgia, palatino">"Went through, just cleaned up a whole bunch of things offensively, make sure everything's called the right way, that we're in the right personnel groups, getting the ball to the right players and running the plays. Even though we threw a lot in, <span style="font-weight: bold;">we kept the plays that we thought would be best for our personnel</span>."</font>

yeah, but they didn't have a defense that could stop a pee wee football team, either.. they scored 34 points against a pretty damn good mississippi defense. I'll take it.

the previous week we had 445 against arkansas.

still better than crooms's offense.. at least it would be progression.

Seriously, have you met the guy? What exactly has Relf done to be labelled as stupid by an MSU fan?

BTW, you really have picked up the baton from 3Putt as the most self-loathing State fan on this board.

If what Shmuley writes resembles humor, sarcasm, self-deprecation, etc., then that's what I generally interpret it as being.</p>

generally works when it's grounded in truth. Where is the truth in Shmuley's statement about Relf's "limited gray matter?"

Also, the whole "We are MSU...we suck" theme to his posts have gotten old.

to photographic evidence and eyewitness accounts to the Dontae Walker Weight Saga of 2002, I could probably get you his test scores and you'd still cry foul.

But on that note, I've talked to a number of people who all say Relf has trouble with the mental aspects of the game.

And the self-deprecating award goes to Arrow. That dude just needs to end it already. I don't see how you don't get Shmuley's humor. The fuckizzle youizzle retort to Xeno or or whoever it was still cracks me up.

"Mullen seen drawing **** up in the dirt"
"Lee taking snaps while on Relf's shoulders"
"With two a days complete, Mullen locks Offensive staff in Hand Hall for the weekend"
"Mullen often seen with a vial of purple ****"
