The 2020 SEC Invitational:
- Any teams who want in, apply by tweeting at Sankey (maybe come up with a better way to state your interest)
- Randomize 7 game schedules and require every team to play their foremost rivalry game with no ******** pushback (Texas and aTm have to play each other, Bama vs Tenn takes the year off)
- After 8 games, cull the field to a Sweet 16 and play a tournament, NCAAB style (if you get like 60 teams, then make a 32 team tournament)
- Give EVERY team not in the tournament a 9th game as a bowl for not being pussies and playing this year - set these matchups with a committee looking to make the game have buzz and pair like-talented teams against each other
- Split 100% of the money evenly across all schools that participate

Id be ok with something similar BUT

16 teams is plenty for a playoff (too many)
Don’t get cute with forcing teams who and who not to play but yes encourage interesting matchups
Don’t split the money evenly - this isn’t communism. Teams take a rake of their game revenue then you can split some.
Definitely create interesting “bowl matchups”

Not that I don’t like the idea, but I think there’s a big divide between finding a way for the SEC to play and something like this that’d basically be like saying... 17 it, come one come all.

I continue to think that there’s a 50/50 shot that we play in the Fall, but it will be SEC only. The only time they’ll start talking about other schools is when they figure the playoff thing out, and at that point, I wouldn’t be at all opposed to some 8 or 16 team format for this year.

Even splits since all universities would be in this together.
