The dumbest coaching I have ever seen at any level. Even the dads who coach their sons in peewee football knew better than to spike the ball.

you can't go blaming the entire loss yesterday strictly on Miles..........Yes, he bungled the last minute........No doubts, no ifs, ands, or butts........However, what you and many other LSU fans are missing is the fact that the game shouldn't have been that close......As bad as I hate to say it, the confederates dominated your *** in every phase of the game.....Complete and total domination..........Ole Miss is the better team right now.......The game wasn't as close as the last minute and the score indicated.....IMO the league can be broken down into 5 distinct groups......

Group 1) Bama/UF.....Heads above the rest no doubt
Group 2) UM by themselves.....Clearly the third best team in this league
Group 3) LSU, Pigs, Auburn, TN, and SC......The group is a grab bag IMO.....
Group 4) UK, UGA, MSU
Group 5) VU

They have three NFL receivers, a first round LT, they had two NFL caliber RB's, and according to some posters a RB that was better than Dixon, who I think is really, really good. A QB that is mobile, and a good arm, a Defense that has a potential Top 10 player drafted in Patrick Peterson, chad Jones, and 3-4 Defensive Lineman that will get drafted after they leave LSU.

LSU has tremendous talent, they have what I like to call a Redneck Head coach. He is the kind of coach that says **** like, "We are gonna line up and whip their ***" and doesn't see the need to scheme and plan and study film, that crap is for pussies. Well that **** works when the talent difference is so large that he can just line up and beat ya. When the gap narrows just enough so that the teams are close, the idiot coach doesn't know what to do. he is lost.

I remember in Saban's first year at Bama we get the ball down to the 5 yard line on the controversial catch by Hodge. What got lost in all of it was Saban telling his DB's since there was 7seconds left, to basically tackle the WR, and dont let them even have a chance to catch the ball. It was a brilliant coaching decision. Because we were down 3 points, and he didn't want to lose the game on the jump ball and he knew if there was no time left on the clock, OM would have to kick the FG to tie the game, or risk going for it, which Saban was fine with. That is smart coaching.

Not knowing when the clock starts and stops is classic Les Miles.

Unbelievably stupid play calling when you are in field goal range to win the game. I thought he might get another year, but he'll be the scapegoat. Someone has to take the fall, and it won't be the Hat.

what good OC would want to come to LSU knowing that Les is on the hot seat. I say clean the slate or...maybe...just maybe...we go get Charlie Weis who could obviously coach offense. That's a pipe dream I know.

Yes, in a year when the #1 and #2 teams are in our conference, the next 10 years are...bleh. Ole Miss is not in a group by itself. They happened to be a 3rd place team no better or worse than group 3. Together, groups 2 and 3 are average football teams. Group 4 is below average. Group 5 sucks.

So basically the SEC is 2 strong teams and a bunch of average to below average teams. We're Big Ten'ing it his season compared to our conference's norms.

under him a couple years ago, and no coach would take it if they fired him. As far as Crowton, he will probably be fired. No young upcoming OC candidate would take the job...you are stuck with finding a used coarch, probably an old, experienced guy who's looking for some money until he retires...sooner than later. Frankly, LSU is "in a pickle."

[been away until just now and too damn lazy to search]: Has it been discussed on here that you could read Hat's lips after that incredulous 1 second spike attempt by Jefferson and he said, "We had a timeout!"

Has that been discussed?

Regardless, that last minute sealed Hat's fate in my opinion. George Bass better put his *** in gear finding Hat somewhere to go pronto.

league right NOW......They are finishing the year just like they did last year.......At the end of last year, they were the best team in the league behind Alabama and Florida, again.......

your point about not firing him because he won a NC- albeit he lost two games that year to, and things worked out for LSU to win- but LSU has pretty good reason to fire him based on his perfromance. Their program has clearly declined.

The scoreboard incorrectly showed 1 timeout left for LSU, and not surprisingly it seemed as if Miles relied on it.

Ole Miss isn't in its own categor. They got thumped by Auburn and beat by S.C. but right now they are the hot team in the conference outside of the Big 2. Hence they are No. 3. They only beat LSU by 2 at home...that doesn't exactly spell elitist in my book above 4 through 8.

that close......I never said they are elitists but they are clearly the 3rd best team in this league right now.....Auburn nor SC would not beat them right now.......So, say what you will, but the bowl officials will have them as the third best team in the league come selection time.......I think they'll end up in the Cap1 bowl and LSU will end up in Outback, if you beat the pigs.....That's a big if.......If not, you get the Cotton.......

disagree with you the categories. There are a lot of what if's in that game that could have changed the complexion. LSU survived Ole Miss in the 1st qtr. However, Les calling the onsides kick in the second qtr up by 8 was huge. I actually liked the call b/c Ole Miss wasn't in position to recover that. However Ole Miss getting the ball and getting a couple of big calls on that drive really turned the complexion of the game back in their favor I thought. Having said that, Miles' luck and consistently show of poor management in crunch time has turned Tiger Nation to hysteria.

when the team who won led 3-0 then not again until the 4th quarter? Then the team who lost could've (and should've) won at the end? That makes absolutely no sense.

With 3 minutes left in the game, we had a 426-172 advantage in total yardage for the game.

We dominated the game, and the only reason we didn't run away with it is because of that sequence early in the game when we had 2 TDs overturned and then had a FG returned for a TD.

We dominated the line of scrimmage the entire game on both sides of the ball. LSU was very fortunate to even have a chance in the game.

When they say the game wasn't as close as the score indicated, that's what they are talking about. Occasionally, a team gets some big time game changing breaks that keep them in a game that they normally wouldn't be in. It's not that complicated of a concept. See the LSU-MSU game as an example. MSU looked like the better team all day. A fluke punt return and if I recall, a deflected pick 6 were the only reasons you didn't easily beat LSU. And even then, you still came up a only a yard short of the win. LSU was very lucky to beat you just like they were very lucky that we didn't run them off the field this weekend.

and that blocked FG happened.. those overturned TDs were just that.. overturned, so they didn't happen. A lot of things COULD BE, but what counts is what ACTUALLY HAPPENS. The rebs won, but to say the game wasn't close is asinine

Although some 6packer bought into c34's bs of LSU being the "favorite" for the West next year, I'm glad that Stallion has acknowledged otherwise.
LSU loses a 1st rounder at left tackle, 1 other OL, an NFL TE, it's top 2 RB's, a 1st round WR, 3 starters on the DL, 2 starting LB's, and possibly Chad Jones.
That's what I call losing some significant contributors. Bama loses most of their defense, but they've recruited as well as anyone the last 2 years and still have better coaching than anyone in the nation on D. Offensively, Bama returns everyone and will be much better in the passing game.

and that blocked FG happened.. those overturned TDs were just that.. overturned, so they didn't happen. A lot of things COULD BE, but what counts is what ACTUALLY HAPPENS. The rebs won, but to say the game wasn't close is asinine

You are correct, and the end result is that we won by 2 points. The point I was trying to convey however is that usually you can tell that a game is a closer margin or wider margin that what it looked like on the field. I know you aren't too dumb to understand that. We won by 2. We didn't win by more than that, but it took a whole lot of good fortune for LSU to even have a chance.

most would say LSU has too. Bammer loses 2 on the OL, a TE, and a WR, so they dont return "everyone" on offense, but they will be solid...LSU returns a slew of WR's, including this years number 1 WR recruit in Randle- Shepherd will be a Soph as well...they also RS'ed the nation's number 11 rated RB in addition to what they already have...and LSU will probably have a new OC to coach this group

Defensively- Bammer loses 8 starters..plus another coming back after blowing his knee out...they have more defensive players without a doubt and will be a good group..LSU loses only 6 and has some highly-rated defensive players in the wings as well

Bammer plays in BR next year...so does Mississippi

We'll see what happens
