Of my fortunate 5 years of enjoying him as a coach at LSU, I realized that Saban can make some of the best adjustments I have ever seen at halftime and shut down another team. Also he's a discplinarian which is what any rebuilding program needs desperately. He's a true tactician and very detailed which makes him an incredible strategist. He can take average defensive talent and keep his team competitive. Now that he has a National Championship under him and is coaching at a school full of football tradition, he is going to get the best athletes in the country every year. Combined, that will make Bama very good very quickly. His current freshmen are absolutely awesome. They are going to give every top SEC team a ton of trouble including LSU. They could run the table, but I am not convinced that the consistency will be there. I do believe John Parker Heimer Smith Wilson is better than Matthew Stafford, but no one believed me on that earlier this year either. Wilson just had to adjust. It is going to be interesting and can't wait for Saban Bowl in Baton Rouge.

They haven't been behind yet this year. I want to see how JPW plays when he needs to lead his team back in the 4th qtr.

in the conference right now. Your Tiggahs look pretty weak on defense, how many points did they give up to probably the worst offense in the country?

Saban is a hell of a coach but I didn't think he could turn them around as fast as he has. Guess you get what you pay for after all.

that the remaining Shula recruit influences somehow rise up at a critical point in a tight one, leading to a colossal choke job. The reason this is a temporary hope is because the Shula influence is being killed off much more quickly than I ever imagined. Damn, Saban, you psychotic sonuvabitch! Don't you know that you are doing it in the entirely wrong way?

They'd easily moved down the field to score a TD on their previous possession and had gone 40 yards in 4 plays on that possession. Then they make these play calls in succession:

1st & 10 - Home run ball down the middle. Why go for the home run now? Just keep doing what you've been doing. Actually can't fault that call too much because the play was there but Tebow missed the open receiver for the easy TD.

2nd & 10 - Another home run ball. The second deep ball in a row was just a stupid call. Miss it and you're in 3rd and long. Again, why not call one of the 5-15 yard passes that had been working so well.

3rd & 10 - Option right. Again why abandon what had been working for you? And a running play on 3rd and long??? I don't care who you are, picking up 10 yards on a running play isn't a percentage play call.

4th & 2 - Not a bad play call if it had been 4th and a foot, but Meyer should have known when that play was reviewed it would be 4th and 2 and he should have given Tebow a rollout pass/run/pitch option.

Yea Urban Meyer made the worse Crxxm decision. Especially against Ole Miss. We are screwed so badly down the road. I'm just hoping we can beat MTSU and Arkansas. Arkansas is about as bad as it gets

Ole Miss, Vandy and maybe Kentucky (who hasn't really proven anything yet). Chances of you winning all 5 are slim, but you still have a shot.

But I think Bama is a force. A force that might come into Baton Rouge and stir things up this year.

Good post and thanks for not leaving us in the gutter again.

When we were blitzing and nobody was playing deep middle. Both were open. Both were overthrown.

As open as the first one was, I'm sure they thought that if we brought a similar blitz and coverage package, why should they not try it again.

As for fourth down, there's absolutely no *##@$@@ way if I'm Meyer that I don't have Tebow "self play action" run two steps toward the line and then toss it over our heads for the first. With as many people selling out on the QB dive, it would have at least garnered a first down, and maybe won the thing out right.

They'd run that same package on the goal line in the second quarter and Ole Miss stuffed it in tight, but Tebow spun outside of the tackle box into the endzone. This time we had a guy line up outside of their TE and he sealed the corner.

Sorry for the length. It's so nice to be able to give a **** about football again.

automatically jump on LSU's bandwagon? Who, other than AU, has LSU played?

Bama beat GA solidly. They should have the #1 spot in the rankings. The only reason you don't have them up there is because of your underlying LSU bias. Just admit it.

Bama has beaten #9 Clemson(at Clemson) and #3 Georgia(at Georgia).

LSU has beaten #10 Auburn(at Auburn). I don't think that MSU is good enough to be listed as a good win.

LSU didn't play like the cream this weekend, but the State game was a trap game between Auburn and Florida. We did not play well this weekend, but they will be ready for Florida on Oct. 11th. Bama IS a force and I guarantee LSU will be up for the Saban Bowl.

Clemson has proven to be an average team at best. Alabama had a poor game against Tulane and really struggled scoring mainly on special teams.

LSU had a horrible game against State, but have played well in the other three games with the exception of a horrible pass by Lee on that pick 6. So it's a tight race.

Bama is much more inexperienced than LSU except at QB. Right now I feel both teams will not run the table this year. It's the SEC and any weekend can come up and bite you if you aren't ready.</p>
