Dear Sixpackers!
The 2012 season has come to an end and the Cream has risen to the top as always. The recipe for the season seems to repeat itself year after year and should be no surprise to anyone. You need strong hogs in the trenches that dominate games, a nasty running game, a QB that doesn’t make mistakes and makes plays when called upon, a defense that gets after it, discipline, and most importantly a coach that knows how to win. Also some poor clock management by the opponents doesn’t hurt.

As much as most of the readers get sick of Saban moving his hands faster than his lips when he talks, the football world knows of his genius and discipline. Yes, Bama may have only had two penalties yesterday and yes, Bama seems to get every call in crucial games, but part of that goes to discipline and part of that goes to the style of offense the Tide runs. It’s a dominating run game which has a smart and strong O-line where penalties are far less fewer than what would be called on a passing team.

However, the Stallion will say that this year’s Cream was not far from the pack. Last year LSU was the cream and Bama was a close second. The 2011 rest of the pack was just along for the ride. But many fans can say, their school’s resume’ was as good as the Cream’s resume’ in 2012 (shout out to Gator nation). However, the eyeball test must come into play here, and Bama, week in and week out, strikes fear in the opposition. When they lose it’s a national crisis. That comes with the territory of being the cream.

And Bama has now surpassed Ole Miss as the team the Stallion loves to hate, mainly because they are good and it’s a great rivalry with his beloved Tigers. It’s the game that everyone in the nation looks forward to now. The Tide fans let you know when they win, and their coach who was once an icon in Baton Rouge is now leading the evil empire. He’s Darth Vader in the form of a Napoleon build. He’s the guy you love to hate. But he has the force with him and until someone can change the formula on his consistent performances of his teams, the Cream will be his.

Have a great Bowl Season SPS Nation, and hope you enjoyed Cream Talk in 2012.
