you are not considering a lot of important things when putting ole miss ahead of us is the point I'm making....

we had the hardest schedule in the country last year and #2 wasn't in MSU's stratosphere....

we played pretty tough against bamer and UF....

a couple of mental hiccups cost us the LSU, Ga Tech and Houston games (CUSA refs as well)

if you look at croom's last season closely and what mullen did in his 1st head coaching gig, it is without a doubt a night and day difference...

we had some ups and down but for the most part, we were learning a new system and getting better as the season progressed...

with all that and what we have coming back, there is no logic in putting the confeds ahead of us... anything can happen but that prediciton doesn't have any merit or facts to back it up

Based on talent, I probably would agree with Stallion, but as long as Miles is the head coach, you can pencil LSU in for an at best 5-3 record in the SEC.

They are fortunate the UNC is going to be out about 4 starters for their game against LSU so that should buy Miles some time.

I really think UT will be the 2nd worst team in the SEC just ahead of Vandy. I think you have South Carolina too high, and I think UGA will surprise this year, mainly because the East is down.

I really think MSU is going to have a good season, I hate to type that, but as long as Relf's personal reasons/hand are merely that, and he is your starting QB, I think the offense will be good enough to put up some points this year. The defense has 4 NFL prospects in McPhee, Wright, White and Mitchell. The only thing holding them back is the schedule. The toss up games are at home, and they have to be wins. If MSU starts out 1-3, the Houston game could be for the season. If you win one against AU or UGA (I think they will), then the season gets interesting.

and wipes out any credibility you may have had. This is homeristic ******** typical of your rankings, in which you always have LSU ranked at least 2-3 spots higher than it should be. Thanks for backing up my reasoning for voting "no" to bringing back this weekly garbage.

....preseason polls are all piles of crap. All of them.

There shouldn't be any high profile preseason polls. They do damage to over-achieving undefeated teams who can't crack the top 5 late in the season for the simple reason that some stupid pre-season pollsters had them at #18 to start the season. Sincerely, Auburn.

LSU has tons of talent, but they still have the mad hatter calling the shots. Miles is an idiot and wont finish near #2 in the SEC. Your ranking basically says you expect LSU to go 11-1 in the regular season. As I told my 12 year old coonass nephew two years ago: "Jordan Jefferson, really? Jordan Jefferson. You're serious? Jordan Jefferson".

it was the poll of having me write Cream Talk.

UF has a solid team. I don't know how good UF is going to be. We assume they are awesome b/c they are Florida. I recall a new QB in Tim Tebow back in '08 that lost 4 games. What makesyou think Brantley is going to do any better?

The East is down this year.

UF's talent level is better than in 08.

They will be favored to win every game they play, save a trip to Tuscaloosa and the potential rematch.

ranking LSU ahead of Florida is just dumb. Even for a huge LSU homer. UF hasbetter talent, better coaching, and a much better QB. You've also got MSU picked way too low. No way we finish 10th in the SEC.

It will be very fun to watch the Stallion's lame excuses for the mighty Tiiiiiiiggggaaahhhhsssss as the losses mount up and they fall down the cream rankings.

There is absolutely no way in hell that any sampling of unbiased SEC fans would put LSU above Florida.

I'd say the tiers below are fair:

Bama/Florida
Ark/SC/Auburn/Georgia
OM/MSU/LSU
UT/UK
Vandy

the consensus. And UF has to replace Tebow with a throwing qb. That means a tweaked offensive scheme w/ more passing when their wr's are a big question mark right now. I say they lose 3 before a bcs bowl.

Thanks for sacking up and stating that. It is preseason and a lot of things can happen. If every poll was the same, would it be worth the discussion. To be honest, the top 6 teams this year have a shot of winning this title in 2010. There are huge question marks with every team and "That's why they play the game."

I actually agree with most of your rankings. After Bama at #1, #2-#7 are basically interchangeable at this point. LSU needs big improvement in the OL to challenge this year, but they are fairly solid everywhere else. I'm still not sold on UF being ranked so high. Not only did Tebow leave, but Charlie Strong left to coach Louisville. If Cam Newton is any good, Auburn will be the surprise this year. I think MSU is probably #8. I have a feeling Masoli will not be as good in the SEC as he was for Oregon in the Pac-10.
