any other predictions? Seriously, the guy has a great Juco pedigree but so did Schaffer and many others, all SEC is an elite club.

I doubt that we will have any 1000 yard rusher on the team. I know that things could change over the season but I doubt if any RB gets more than 10carries a game. This does not include Relf. I would say that Relf has the best shot at getting to the 1000 yard mark but I really doubt it.

I wouldn't say All-SEC either, but from what I saw in the spring game, I could see him separating himself from our other RB's down the road and getting more of the load. Perkins is the one I haven't seen much of, but Ballard looked to be more complete and quicker than Conner or Elliott

the only way relf gets close to 1000 yards rushing is if he has a huge few games. because every team we play is going to put 8 in the box till they see if he can complete passes. I think mullen is going to go with what ever running back is hot at the time. Figure memphis game he will give elliot about 10-12, ballard 8-10, conner 6-8 and perkins 4-6. I just hope they can hold on to the ball. We have gotten very spoiled the past years with norwood and dixon not turning the ball over.

Considering we will play 3 WR's on most plays spreading the field, in your expert opinion every team is going to play constant man coverage in the Secondary with their last 3 guys covering our 3 WR's with no Free Safety? Also, this would include one of those walked up safeties having to make a quick read on run or pass and cover Marcus Green man too.

Okay then.

Psst...this would make Relf a much better QB by eliminating his reads of pass or zone... we would run pick plays constantly and throw for 300 yards a game...and play-action passes would be awesome

MS Gulf Coast doesn't play any easy JUCO Schedule. MS Juco has pretty much the best JUCO Football teams in country. Ballard will be more than advertised.... He will be a sleeper back and Conner will supplement him.. I'd just like to see Elliott make a lil noise.

Mullen will get players in open space. One way or another.

Keep in mind folks that one team has a Heisman trophy RB coming back along with his backup which many say is better. That is just one dam team and the rest of the league has been recruiting their butts off to put the best they can on the field. This is the absolutely the toughest conference in the nation to make all conference. There are 12 teams with NFL caliber talent laced throughout. Anyone that thinks that a first year starter that has not seen SEC linemen, LB's, safeties and even CB's in a real game to be an all SEC performer must be high on something. Things like that do happen and I hope he is high on the truth and knows what he is talking about but I ain't holding my breath.

if you overcommit to any particular scheme whereas others in the past could not abandon or adjust their strategy no matter how ineffective it might be. We are not where we need to be a reciever just yet but we certainly have enough on the offensive line to keep the defense at bay to hit two or three talented recievers for big plays if people want to fill the box and play man on those recievers.

Mullencan make you pay, unlike Croomwood.
We are going to have to prove that we can pass against a good D. When we do that, everything will open up.

Also, we have got to reduce turnovers. A lot of our interceptions last year were tipped balls, and I'm hoping that is gonna change. That alone will change our win/loss record.
It's early, and the wool is thick.

If Ballard were to ever make all-SEC, I would say that would be next year. It's going to to take him a game or three to get used to the game speed of the SEC. Look for his senior year to be bigger than his junior season.

But he will quietly have a solid year. After re-watching the spring game I'm convinced he'll be an excellent fit for our option run game with Relf. He's got such a quick first step that he gets through the line before anyone can touch him. He may not break big runs like Dixon & I don't know how he would perform in a traditional offense.Butwith his quickness &our offense, I expect him topick up positive yards every carry.

Kind of like a fullback in a traditional option offense - he'll take the handoff & pick up 2-3 yards before you know it.
