First, when has Kiel or anyone around him said anything about him wanting to transfer, that is ALL pure speculation at this point. Why would he transfer out of a situation where he is the known starter into a situation where he has to compete for the job?
Second, picking up a guy like Hansen is the staffs effort to bring in a solid, somewhat tested backup so we can have the benefit of redshirting Hoak.
If we bring in Kiel, we risk losing Barker. That's not something this program needs. Barker won't be content to sit another year, especially after its been publicly stated that the job is his now, sink or swim.
