Heard from a good OM source that Archie told some close to the program that this search has been bad timing for him and that he had hope to be more involved. Said that withhis prior commitments and travel he was not able to give it 100%. So now it sounds like Chancellor, AD and now committee members trying to pass the buck. Will be interesting to see who wants to claim credit if Freeze ends up being a decent hire.

it ends up being hosed, then the committee approach would enable them to not be able to hold any one individual accountable or responsible for the 17 up, if and/or when it occurs. It simply doesn't make sense for any thinking candidate to want a job when he doesn't or won't know who his immediate supervisor will be. It's a common way of doing things nowadays...nobody ends up being the 17 up...and the corch can be fired...by somebody.

Considering he had to be in ATL yesterday to attend the SEC CG to watch his school's rival, I imagine he indeed didn't have much time to invest in the search.***

Not so fast, my friend. Croom would have had to win at some point for Nutt to be their Croom. I'm thinking Coach O = Croom. I'm thinking Freeze is a guy who will consistently have them 6 to 8 wins a year. Nothing special in my eyes. Not enough major talent in Arkansas or Memphis to make his recruiting backgrounds worth it for me, but he'll probably pull some recruits out of his *** every year that become impact players.Rockydawg said:
