MS was estatic this week when 4* QB affirmed his commitment and said he would be taking no more visits, but does a couple of days make a difference? Now Alabama has come calling and has offered. I will be extremely worried if MJ dosen't shoot this down right away. What say you?

How does he shoot it down that will satisfy you that he hasn't already by saying no more visits?

Understand the Alabama tradition and allure. If you are a DT/DB commit or OLB than I worry.
Alabama hasn't produced a starting NFL QB since Richard Todd with the Jets, Jay Barker did not make it, the last 2 NC's QB's were backups, one is backing up for the Bengals, the other is hosting a radio on XM.

If you like handing the ball off to a Heisman trophy contender than playing QB at Bama is your cup of tea.

I think when all is said and done and he looks at Hinshaw and Gran than you have pretty nice sell, Cincy QB's were in Pro type system, Gran coached the Auburn QB who played and started in the NFL, his name escapes me. Year they did not get NC.

Florida might be better option but they have targeted 2-3 kids this year and signed 5 star last year.
Bama has 5 star committed from last year in California. They have 1-2 more high 4-5 guys on roster.

As stated in the other thread, it may be a question of whether AL recruits him as THE guy or whether just another guy. JMO.

Peace

THE guy, but for what year? Bama will never be without more options at any position, and probably even less so at QB since they haven't had all five stars there lately, something they think is normal at every position.

Nice compliment to him and maybe an indication of how important to us it is to keep him, but hopefully that is all.

I don't think Mac is going anywhere. I think bought in to MS' pitch and is all in. Plus I dont think a kid that has an account on here would be going anywhere. :joy::victory:

Jones already said he won't take anymore visits. He can't sign until February, so this is just like any other verbal commitment.

I trust Mac Jones to Honor his pledge to UK. I really believe he is a young man that keeps his word. He knew when he told MS, that more offers would be coming. Let him enjoy all the honors he is getting. He will be a cat in Feb.

Until he takes a visit anywhere I wouldn't worry one bit. He loves coach stoops and Gran/Hinshaw. He loves the offense they plan on running. Bama offers several QB's every cycle plus are sitting 5 stars on the bench. MJ will compete for starting spot from day 1 at UK and he likes the thought of that a lot. I'm not worried until other visits start happening again. He is going to be a good one no doubt.

IT's great for Mac and UK that he gets the Alabama offer. This is not a negative to UK or Mac- it just verfiies to other recruits and committments that UK and Mac are building something special for themselves. It's Mac's right to do what is best for him and to check out all things football. However, I believe he knows he is "set" at UK and he will be showcased here and in reality we have everything to offer him he could want. By the time he arrives and is the leader of this team we should be very, very good and contenders for the SEC and National Honors.

The caveat to all of this year will be how this year's UK team plays and does. It will not necessarily be measured in wins and losses, but rather on how the offense produces and the team responds to the this, basically, new staff.

Go Big Blue!
