not yet it isn't. He will have to miss the tournament this year and next before he starts feeling the heat. You don't lose your top 2 players and expect to not miss a beat the following year

Byrne has had his crosshairs fixed on Stans for the past couple of years (for other reasons than w/l record), but now he has the ability to do something about it.

He is definitely safe this year, I could see him having some problems if he fails again next year. Not that I think he will though. He is not as bad of a coach as some of you make him out to be. You don't average 20 per season over a decade by being a ****** coach

that I feel like we need at least an 6-8 point lead with 2 minutes to go to have a shot. That's pathetic.

so Byrne has had his crosshairs fixed on Stans basically since the day he even came to MSU in 06? man, thats quite the fixation.

odd that Byrne would have his crosshairs fixed on Stans during a year when we made it to the final 4 of the NIT and then made it to the NCAA the next year.

Good to know you're good at reading comprehension. You just exactly stated what I just posted. Here I'll repeat it for you again in simpler terms for the pgm hacks: Byrne doesn't like Stans and his ... "method". There ya go.

In Byrne's time at MSU, that 'method' has gotten the team to the final 4 of the NIT, and an NCAA tournament invite. Basically all Byrne has known since being at MSU is a basketball team that wins the West and goes to the postseason.

What part of that would lead him to have Stans in his crosshairs?

...this isnt me actually defending Stans.

METHOD? Recruiting? League team associations? Lack of coaching ability? Attitude? Humped someone close to him?

You gotta tell. Otherwise, it's a rule violation.

The one coaching problem I have with Stans is that when we have a 2-6 point lead or thereabouts with a minute or two left in the game, he goes to to the stall offense. And it seems like everytime we end up throwing up bricks at the shot clock buzzer, like tonight, instead of running our damn offense. That IS poor coaching and you woud think he woul leatn by now that is NOT the right thing to do.

The pressure is much greater to make the shot as the clock runs down than it is when we are running our normal offense. There is no excuse we should have lost three of our games tonight other than coaching.

a rebuilding year. You lose Rhodes and Gordon on a basketball team and you are rebuilding. Period. No heat whatsoever. You guys are nuts.

I know that the Ninja was treated very badly by the Stans in the Ninja's early days. Seems that the Stan's has quite the potty mouth and likes to use it on asst. coaches that don't bow and asst. A.D.'s. Apparently, the Stan's has been doing this quite some time. Don't fall for the aw shucks look that he presents. He's quite the a-hole and the Ninja was caught early on by the Stan's way. The Stan's is running scared now because he got to win or else???

It is still no excuse, we lost to a better coached team...Whats +!*%*%@ new...

Stans could not coach a YMCA girls team will less talent to a victory.
We are used to having the better players just win-out, that doesn't work against better coaches...repeat...

I have no sources, it is completely a guess. Kind of like Jackie was given 2 years and then an extra to really screw us. If Stans can't get us in at least the NIT next year he should be gone. I have heard how he treats his star players and then everybody else is crap. I believe that is why he has so many transfers. He is a decent coach but a good to possibly great recruiter. We could do better hopefully but it could also blow up in our faces like Auburn. He has at least next year anyway.

interpreted as- i dont know **** and just like the attention i am getting from my first few posts.
you still havent actually said ****, unless you are actually suggesting Byrne hates everything about Stans from his coaching to his recruiting to his personality to...well basically his entire existence.

I think if he misses the postseason all together this year I think he has to make the Dance in 2010 to survive.
