are what is going to lead some sort of computerized strike zone. That last one was pure retribution. While Lawrie's reaction was unacceptable, so was the umpiring.

my biggest issues is really the indignity of the umpires that one would question their calls. the umpire from the tigers game a few years ago that blew the call 26 outs into a perfect that came out and admitted his mistake and felt awful is one of the few umpires that's ever admitted his mistake. most of them would never have admitted that. then they hold a grudge and make the game about them more than making the game about the game.

They act as though they have been shot. I am not saying that Lawrie was right or that getting hit by a bounced helmet doesn't hurt but his reaction was pure garbage

... so they probably should go ahead and use computer-called balls and strikes now. At least it would be accurate. Some of the calls they make are terrible. To appease the umpires' union, the could just have the home plate umpire standing there to throw a new ball to the pitcher every once in a while.<div>

And the second strike was bad.

If that umpire consistently calls that a strike, then he has no business being a MLB umpire.

we all know their eyes arent far enough apart to cover both sides of the plate like a camera can.

The second call would have sat him down for at least one week, if not two without pay and the 17ing umps union would be put on notice that the call would be used to justify the computer calls if they made one 17ing peep about the suspension.,

Well, if you look at the link in my post, it shows where the computer would have put the third strike. It's right on the line. It was not a bad call.
