I always hear people saying that Yancy makes his predictions to drum up business. His predictions usually seem to be "Ole Miss will get everyone they want" (today included). I just done see how that drums up business? While I have a subscription to both BDJ and GP, I would not renew if Paul or Steve was that big of a homer. I try to follow recruiting to see who we actually have a chance with, not for someone to tell me that Dan Mullen will sign every player that he is interested in.

is that:

1. yancy works for the Spirit. When you speak of Ole Miss homers, this is where the majority congregate.
2. Yancy then provides biased tidbits (hey, Steve and Gene do the same thing-ish) that gets the crowd into a frenzy.
3. They then renew their subscriptions based on their belief that they are getting inside information that NO ONE ELSE COULD EVER GET
4. After about half the predictions come true, whoever posted them is a demi-god, and blame cheating by other schools for the other half for not coming true.

Supply and demand. This is the time of year that Yancy (and Steve) really rack up the subscription renewals for their prosepective sites. Hey, whatever it takes.

Just my theory. I firmly believe that if you wait for maybe an hour or two after tidbits or bones, you will have the exact same info for free.

a recruit is not going to commit. Recruits that are toss-ups will be considered Ole Miss leans until proven otherwise.
