We are driving out from Indiana to catch the first game of the season. Staying at the Marriott Cornhusker. My problem is we are driving a full size conversion van that is like 10 ft + tall. I need to find somewhere to park it. It is too tall for almost every parking garage. Once we get there we will not be driving it until we leave, we will just walk everywhere. Does anyone know of a good place I could park this beast without having to pay for valet parking at the hotel?

There used to be 2-hour-limit parking spaces around the State Capitol building that opened up on Friday around 5 p.m. and weren't ticketed again until Monday morning. Not sure if that's still the case, but you might check into it - would just be about 3 blocks from your hotel. They will fill up quickly on Saturday though, if they are still free.

I would find the direct local line for the Marriott during the day and ask them. They might have a spot for you. Otherwise, park it at a Wal-Mart after you drop off the bags at the hotel and Uber back to the hotel..Winking You might be able to find some on street parking on a residential side street not too far south or east of the Marriott.

There is on-street parking about three blocks south of the Cornhusker hotel that is not metered. If you do a Google street view of 13th and "H" there are no meters there. Park the beast on the street, and walk back to the hotel three blocks.

That's generally the same area that I'm talking about above, but I think those spaces around the Capitol would be a bit safer. There's better street lighting and the building always has a couple of security guards on duty who at least take a look when a car alarm goes off.
