Here is the problem with the NFL Combine

I love watching the combine and the NFL draft, but this is what annoys me: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/j...ays-big-arm-release-may-improve-draft-ststock

You could have watched any Tennessee game this year and known this was obvious, but you could also watch any TN game and know that this is the least of his problems. It just baffles me that Bray could increase his stock at the combine by showing arm strength. I could understand his stock improving by doing well in the interviews and makeup type stuff. But arm strength? Have they watched him play before?

At least 3 times it says he has the best arm in the draft. What do you think they're talking about? And yeah, dumb article. Anyone who can't tell immediately from watching him play 1 game that he has a terrific arm and release doesn't have any business in scouting, so how could he have raised his stock by confirming again what everyone already knew.

I think that's just the media trying to create their own story. As you say, if scouts are just now finding out about his arm strength, they weren't doing their jobs for the last three years. Quarterbacks working out at the combine seems to be largely a formality, as many of them don't even throw to preserve their current stock.
