1. SPS,BDJ and GP should have shut down thier boards for a few days.
2. The Ninja should have chosen a nuetral location (base camp) away fro The Jewel to operate from
3. Vezey and co should have honored the request to STFU.

The interweb and media have +$$%+* this thing up. Not GB. I still think he can get a quality hire, but the aforementioned are the reason if we dont. I know MW and the owners of this board and will tell them the same thing in person the next time I see them. **** is ridiculous.

Besides, I think it is ridiculous to say Petersen or whomever would've taken the job if it weren't for those pesky fans.

And if we can't hire an OC from a BCS school for $2.5 mill, then we will never get a real coach in S-Vegas.

I just don't see why we can't get Wilson...

Thanks CROOMS

The internet and the media come into play whenever/wherever there is a coaching vacancy - college or pro. You can't blame them when you don't get who you wanted.

4. Buyout for Croom should have included a six-week all expense vacation to any place where there are no cameras or mics.

"Inside Sources"
"Good Authority"
" I saw him last nights"
"Book its"

So on and so forth, are just nuts and counterproductive.

The only media who give a rats *** are within a 30 mile radius. They have little to no influence beyond say 90 miles. I seriously doubt Kevin Wilson gives a rat's *** what Gene thinks, says or does even if he calls him. These coaches have been through this before. Stop being paranoid, if they don't come here it is because they simply did not want to come here. Most likely due to location and the REAL media like ESPN who call us a hell hole.

...and with no new members allowed during major coaching changes. I thought the Ninja was working out of Dallas or Greenville. I think the mainstream media folks are doing very well.

In such an information-driven society, it seems everyone wants to know everything there is to know right <17>ing now. No patience, replacing the true reality with guesses, rumors, and arguing themselves into the ground. Seriously, how many of these threads are gonna get recycled before people realized that thinking about something they can't control IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER will drive them insane? Remember, freedom and free speech are only good if you find something productive to do with them.

Here are some links. Read. Learn. Dismiss them. Hell, go rob a bank. Just do something else other than following Byrne's plane around waiting for Moses to lead his people to the promised land.

caused more damage than this board or any other. If the guy accepted the job he accepted the job. People had a right to be excited, they were and then he backed out.

I have it from HIGH authority that it fell through because of Petersen's sons condition. He just couldn't replicate the quality of life he (his son) is able to enjoy in Boise here. That was the major sticking point. I don't blame the guy one bit. You got to take care of your family first.

I agree with that. This place is full of gullible people. No wonder sponsors flock to sites like this. But my point is the media and the internet are here to stay. If you let them affect your search, you probably need to find another line of work.

All the recruits base their decision on what they read on message boards.

about people jumping the gun. The rumor grew and people's excitement level grew infinitely including mine. ****, when I came back to work that afternoon, I actually high-fived a co-worker. I know that is horrible but I was damn elated.

if that was the case. Because the media, fans, etc is a 24/7 job. Hell, if he was hired, I bet we would have had 40K at the spring game. That's more than their stadium holds.

I haven't believed anything since Friday.
