As I mentioned in an earlier post, my oldest daughter graduated from the Cronkite School in strategic media. She was hired by ABC News in DC. She interviewed Congressmen and Senators and had a wonderful time (internship).

Of all the employees at that network, she felt she was the only conservative. In fact, her boss on her last day, told her they were thrilled with her work because she brought a different perspective (conservative) and he hoped ABC would diversify their newsroom (he was African American). She had a great relationship with him.

As you know Pax I too worked in Journalism. It's as bad today (bias) as the worst I saw after 20 years in the business. I hesitate to call it "corruption" because I simply do not believe it's possible for someone to be totally unbiased.

I can accept a little bias, as long as it's balanced by either a fair airing of the other side, or alternative views. Just be honest about your views, I can handle that.

You get neither with today's reporting. In fact, they simply miss stories I think scream "cover me"!!!!!

You don't need bias to understand our schools are in desperate need of reform. It's not "corrupt" to understand that public assistance not tied to some sort of personal motivational goals to escape poverty helps not only taxpayers but those receiving the help.

It doesn't require you to set aside your preference over how health care services in the country should be administered to understand that the entire system is broken and in need of serious reforms. Why not present all of the plans from the best minds to address the issue?

That's not news?

I said to open this thread we are in an information crisis. However just over the horizon a new information paradigm is emerging that promises to be not only more effective than the current mass media configuration, but more relevant and certainly more competent.

We as consumers of news information can filter out the bias and corruption...we already have.
