I go to the Grove at least once a year to walk around, cocktail, and enjoy the scene. I know some of you hate all things Ole Miss, but if you're not a complete inbred retard, it's hard to not enjoy Oxford on game day, assuming State's not playing there.
But I also wear scarves to games, so I'm probably a closet Rebel.
Very much agree, though I don't make it to Oxford as much since most of my friends that went to Ole Miss aren't making it back as much anymore.
Anyway, you can find me in my maroon slacks, white button up, and brown mocc loafers with no socks on gameday if anyone is interested. I may even have on a visor, and I'll definitely be rocking the aviators. If it's really nice out, I have the khaki seersucker blazer, or a brown cord one if it's slightly chilly. Cold day? I grudgingly put on some socks, then pull out the driving coat and a scarf. As a bonus, I can pull out the knitted MSU toboggan with the fuzzy maroon and white ball on top. I'll be sipping a bloody mary with a forest of home grown and home made pickled veges. I put the home grown and ground cayenne pepper in the jars because a spicy bloody mary can be ruined if the pickle spears or green beans don't sear your tongue off, too. Straight from the dirt to douche and I don't give a ****. I don't hunt but if some buddies have had a good year, we usually have plenty of deer sausage, and I do make a mean pot of deer chili from donations. The women folk decorate the hell out of the place and have just about every hand painted MSU decorative platter that's ever been made. Come and party. If you wanna stick around for awhile, it would be appropriate to BYOB. Wanna keep coming back? Start brining some food. Only two rules we got. Plenty of chairs, a TV, some baggo, and a tailgate that lasts as long as we feel like awaits.
We brag like m17ers about our tailgate to anyone who will listen. So yeah. I get Oxford, and I love tailgating there, as well. I just want their football team to suck.
