nope

If Alabama and we both win out, they will leave us at 4. If two SEC teams get in, they will play them against each other in the semi to avoid an all-SEC final.

Note to Dan Mullens: kick Vandy's *** badly and find a way to win in Oxford.

No pussyfooting around this weekend. We need to be clicking on all cylinders. I hope Dan makes it clear to the committee.

Selection committee chairman says Bama won a "decisive victory" over us.
I guess my definition of decisive is different from his. Perhaps I am just being too thin-skinned.

What channel was it on? Nothing but basketball on the ESPN networks. Was it on the crawler?

If you only watched the first half, it was decisive. The entire game wasn't though.

Condi Rice said no rematches in semifinals. That's the whole reason for them doing it this way now. If we win we move up to 2 or 3rd. We could have have a Bama/State national title game.

You're probably right ... avoid Atlanta and go for the big one. Atlanta is too risky. We really do control our own destiny the rest of the way.

Yeah ***** Kanell made a comment about it not being as close, because we got the late TD, then Pollack had our back by saying well if you want to go there, we can talk about the red zone turnovers when they were about to score and the false start at the 1 yard line when about to score.. I like ol Pollack

The SEC hate is flowing all through the sports world. 4 SEC teams in the top 10.

I have to admit I am shocked. I felt sure OSU would get the sympathy vote.

If I read right, if you buy first round playoff tickets, you must also buy NC tickets ... the same number. And you've got to commit by 5 p.m. this Friday. So If you commit to buy, and we wind up in Pasadena, you've still got to buy tickets to there and Dallas as well (if we make it to Dallas). By all means, correct me if I'm wrong. Total commitment is a minimum of $625 per ticket ($175 + $450) ... could be more if your BDC rank is higher.

The only game I'm going to commit to is Atlanta.

You have to buy them but not necessarily use them. You can sell either the semi or the national championship tickets on the secondary market if you don't want them. I've spent a heck of a lot more on a lot of bad football over the years. If you are ahead of me in BDC rank, by all means, don't commit!

OM friend of mine say that there's a conspiracy on part of the committee to place State at #4 so OM can upset that apple cart and get in the final four.

Yes, the BDC deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, and it must be in their hands by then if you choose to mail it. On-line is best though, through your Dog Tag. Supposedly no orders will be considered after that day and time.

It's a little risky that way, but probably not very. Don't know your rank but mine's about 1100 last time I checked. The estimate 1500 or better will be in for the semis, and 1800 or better for the NC. Of course, any member can apply regardless of ranking.

I'm assuming she was speaking of the rules that the committee agreed upon. She didn't say it "as her opinion" to my knowledge.

Well, that's original. Gotta admit I never thought of that. No way they're going to jump 4 places even if they blow us out of the water, or win in Atlanta.

They'll need a LOT of help from Florida, whoever Oregon plays, Auburn, and whoever TCU and Baylor play for that to happen. We control our own destiny; they do not.

im afraid if we and buckeyes win out, the buckeyes would overtake us the last week. Gosh that would hurt.

Why the hell would they want OM in there (LOL). Talk about pissing some people off. Their two losses are to a 7-3 and 6-4 team.

Ohio State's strength of record/strength of record +their very poor loss assures there is no way they jump us if we win out. What people don't seem to understand is if the 4 teams represented tonight win out THEY ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS. it doesn't matter what 5-10 do unless 1-4 drop a game.

Ohio State has Indiana and Michigan left, both about equivalent to Vandy this year. Wisconsin is better and I suppose they'd be their opponent in the Big 10 championship, but Wisconsin's not as good as the Bears ... their best win is Nebraska (not great this year) and they lost to a pretty poor Northwestern team.

I don't see any way they can bump us if we win out.

Maybe so. This week would have been the week to implement those rules with Bama and State. Just saying.
