Here's a question I've been pondering lately, about that prick Slive.

We have lists. We've been stepped on, ignored, pushed aside, cheated, reprimanded, and lots of other bad things, seemingly upon direct orders out of the SEC front office. Stormrider just gave a good recap of recent events in football, and you could fill a page about basketball ******** like the Jarvis sit-n-snub, the pandering and politicking for Florida to get in the big dance after we just beat them, refusal to come to our aid during the Sidney or Bost debacles, etc. etc. etc. etc. And of course I could spend another paragraph talking about how he lets -- no, even DEFENDS -- referees in both sports when it's clear they made mistakes, as long as it's just little ol' Missippi State that takes it up the ***...

So, my question is - does the MF'er really, deep down, hate MSU and does he do all these things with malice and forethought? Or does he just absolutely and completely not give one runny **** what happens to this one particular SEC school? Is he holding a grudge over something we did, or are we simply a gnat that he deals with only when necessary?

Did LT vote against him in an election at some point? Did Jack bang his wife while he was in college? Would he bother to send a sympathy card if campus got hit by a comet tomorrow?

I'd really just like to know the origin of all this. I know it's been going on for a while, but it seems to have ratcheted up a few notches since Slive took over. I guess I lean towards him not giving a damn, but the evidence is mounting in the other direction.

than when LT was still in charge. He evidently was buddy buddy with LT and didn't like it one bit when we put LT out to pasture. He does seem to take great delight in shafting us however and whenever possible.

I think he wishes there was only one Mississippi Skool in the SEC, and invite another University with a bigger media market. Since UM is so close to Memphis, the Mississippi skool getting the axewould be The Mississippi State University.

Problem is, instead of quietly going into the night, THE Mississippi State University has scrapped and fought to build an excellent sports program, what with a Bowl-bound football team and a consistent post-season playing basketball program. The gameday experience now rivals anyone anywhere and fan excitement is at an all-time record high. This goes against what Slive was hoping for- that a lousy MSU program, with tepid fan interest, would be more suited for the Sun Belt while the SEC could make inroads into the Houston, New Orleans, South Florida, or even the Charlotte TV markets without expanding the SEC.
