Here's my question: Why the hell are you talking about cleaning house when

all you need is some relief pitching. Holy **** reading this board the last few months you'd think the "I 17 on the first date" retard and her sisters all started for MState. Y'all have a pretty stout offense, average starting pitching, and a freakin gas can bullpen. Clean house, I hope you do. Y'all aren't a bad team.

we will need a catcher, centerfielder, probably a 1st baseman, leftfielder although Brownlee is good on defense, need to improve at ss, Sneed will be good at 3rd, Butler is iffy on defense although he had a good bat this year. Now, as for as back-ups. there all gone except Duffy who may play 1st, Rawdow will be back, I believe Freeman will be back but not sure if he will catch.
Pitching, we may keep 4 or 5 and the rest will be newcomers. I'd say we need a good cleaning and you'll see a bunch of new players and I'm guessing around 17 to 20 new guys.

Obviously jack you don't know much about Msu's baseball team. We are 24 and 28 and we were bad last year, time for a change as this ain't what our tradition in baseball is all about.

Bad teams lose two years in row, good teams are when you win not lose.

will be pitchers in all likelihood. We also have three seniors at catcher, so that's an issue. We're also going to lose Conner Powers in the draft, so replacing him is an issue as well. Then we're losing some OF's like Hogue and Nick Hardy.

So, it's about replacing some of the seniors as much as it is anything.

I will echo that Jet Butler looks completely confused out there a lot of the times on defense and the basepaths. Funny thing is, BDJ thinks that he will get drafted and may leave. If a team does this, I'll probably make it a point to buy a ticket and go to a game as a token of appreciation. Yes, Butler can hit some, and he has good size, but his instincts are HORRIBLE. To me, he doesn't hit well enough to overcome that.

I'll say this- one guy I would be interested in if I was a scout is Scott DeLoach. He's 6'4", and he's only 200 pounds, so he has a frame that could fill out with some muscle. He can hit, can hit in the clutch, and I know moneyball is fading out, but according to MSU's website a couple of days ago, he leads the SEC in OBS, which is still pretty impressive to me. He also throws runners out at 18% clip and has a .984 fielding percentage. So, he could stand to improve on thrwong runners out, some. He also chipped in three stolen bases. So, I think the biggest thing he needs to do is add some muscle, and if I had to take a chance on a guy from MSU's team, it would probably be DeLoach.

has nothing to do with whether or not we are a good team. For most of the past 30 years, everyone has been able to beat Ole Miss in May.

to call them all a bunch of pussies. Makes 'em feel bigger. It also helps to lay all the blame on Polk. Those are his pussies players, afterall.

The posters that call these guys pussies must have some serious inferiority issues.

As I've said before, it's not the players fault they weren't properly evaluated. I was an average HS baseball player. If Polk had offered me a spot, I damn sure wouldn't have said "no thanks, I suck."

Cohen will have his own players soon enough, the guys we have now are doing what they can. </p>

That's not completely accurate. Usually we've been nearing our peak in May, especially when you consider that we've been to the semifinals of the SEC tourney 4 straight seasons, and we've been in the championship game 3 of the last 4 years. It's June that's been the problem.

Even during the Bianco years your record is 58-58 against SEC and NCAA competition. I'm going to have to say I plan on hoping Cohen can accomplish more than that.

...all the MSU posters who used this thread to shoot down this retarded idiot's retarded take on MSU baseball.

The only thing worse than a Miss. State dumbass claiming to know what he is talking about when it comes to MSU sports is an Ole Miss dumbass claiming to know what he is talking about when ii comes to MSU sports.

is that we have the worst fielding percentage in the conference.

Stats

So basically, we hit well and and have the ability to pitch it well on Friday and Saturday. But sometimes, we don't hit well either.

He isn't planning on being drafted at the moment. But I am sure, and this is speculation on my part, he would take a shot at the pros if he were drafted.

he could sign as a FA.

If he comes back as a grad assistant, I think that would be awesome to.

and contrary to what some people have said of our players in general, he loves Cohen.

But as of right now, he will be a part of our program next year. Personally, I'm glad he's doing well. I'm from Madison and have known his family for a large portion of my life. I thought we would be in serious trouble if he saw the field this year. Well, we are in trouble but Scott has done a hell of a job this year. I think he'll be a good coach as he's a bright guy. I just wish he was a part of a team that didn't suck so bad.

but I bet that next year, we're going to hear a lot less about the players hating Cohen. Cutting players also means cutting parents.

I think the parents spreading these rumors are the swine flu of MSU baseball.

I never heard about any players hating Cohen until he came to coach at MSU and OM fans started talking.

I have talked to UK fans and they said we'd love him.

I have talked to numerous players and the ones I have talked to love him. Granted, I haven't talked to all of them, but the ones I know love him.

You all can take that for what its worth. But they have no reason to lie to me. I am sure that some players don't like him. But as a team, most love the guy.

A good baseball team makes opponents PAY for throwing BP pitches for Strike One. Also, the defense needs to be shored up.
